:scared1: Ok, so we go to D-World next month for a week and I'm starting to get nervous that I won't have enough memory for my camera...I have 7 GB, should I be safe??

How many/much memory cards did you bring?

Now I only bring 1 card, but it holds up to 990 pictures. If I should fill that up, I go to the Kodak kiosk and have them upload my pictures to a cd for $12.95. I've also done it on the Disney Cruise.

Will you be uploading your pix to a laptop while there?
If so, that will reduce the memory you need :flower3:
If not, follow Lisa's recommendation. She knows her stuff! :thumbsup2

We did the kiosk thing too. Came home with a nice CD of our pictures. And in the long run, the kiosk is much cheaper than a 2nd memory card.

I have 1 gb two cards (Santa brought me an extra one in my stocking :lmao: last year since we had several trips planned for this year) and my DH has a 2gb in his camera and we were fine on our trip in June to WDW and the Caribbean in March.

I also did go and get a CD when we switched from WDW to Universal just to be on the save side - I'm very cautious with my photos!

Have a great time!

I tend to bring my laptop and download anyway (in case of card corruption). If I was really paranoid I would bring a cd and burn it every night. Hummm I leave in 5 days, maybe that is not a bad idea...so where are those cds???:lmao:

DH brought 8GB for his camera, I also had 8GB for mine. Plenty of space. Before our trip, I checked my cameras manual, figured out how many photos I could take on my cards all together on the settings I usually use. I figured that, between DH and I the potential was there for 8000 photos. We're shutterbugs, but felt the combined 16 GB was PLENTY !

Wow! I feel like such a slouch. My first trip digital I had only 128 Megabyte. They had no processing of digital on property so I took it to a little computer store to have it put on a disc. That was mid trip and I don't think I even filled it up again by the time I left. I think I was still so used to film. My next trip I only had 1GB and my next one will only have 2GB. I have an extra 1GB I will probably bring along with me. Memory was expensive back then. It is so cheep these days, having extra doesn't hurt.

My last trip, I took 2 2GB cards, at my camera's best settings this worked out to about 450 pictures per card. I filled one completely, and the second one had room for about 2 pictures, lol! I need more memory!

My previous trip, I had an older camera with less MP, and so I took about 1800 photos with 2 512MB cards, and 1 1GB.

You say you have 7GB, but you need to figure out how many pictures that would be of the size and quality you normally shoot with (S, M, L, fine, superfine, etc).

We went a couple of weeks ago and stayed 8 nights. I took a little over 1000 pics.

Thanks to all that responded....I didn't know about the uploading to a CD - HOW COOL IS THAT!! Well I do plan on taking a RIDICULOUS amount of pictures while I'm there (seriously RIDICULOUS)...I want to make sure I capture every single moment (it's my first time there with my kids and I'm super excited) and plus I scrapbook - need I say more?

Well, I was being SUPER safe and bought 4 more 2GB cards (that totals 8GB more) - there was a special at Costco and I got 2 - 2GB (total of 4 GB) for under $18.00 (we had a coupon), so I figured instead of paying the $12.95 for the CD, I'd just spend that on more cards.

So now, I'm going there with 15 GB worth of cards :woohoo: . One of the things I did fail to mention on my original post is that occasionally I video tape off my camera.

So I think I'm safe :-)

Again, thanks!
