I'm trying to figure it out and just can't. How much money per day on average would you say that I need to budget for food without any sit down meals. I already have our PS (3) budgeted. It will be hot so we will eat less than usual.

I will be bringing breakfast food like pop tarts and cereal and juice and will do a grocery stop to pick up milk. BTW, how big of a container will the resort refrigerators hold?

So, we will probably only eat one other meal during the day and snacks like popcorn and ice cream if we get the munchies.

There are 4 of us. Two adults and two girls (11 & 12). The 11 yr old eats like a bird and the 12 yr old is my neice from another state so I really don't know what her eating habits are. Let's say normal.

I'm thinking $75 a day. Sound reasonable? Thanks!

To be honest, I would allocate $100 /day, $25 pp. $75 is cutting it close for 4 people. I know it's doable, but let's have fun. If you spend less that's great! Put it towards souvenier money! That could be an incentive plan. You may want to consider bringing water bottles as well! I'm not sure we're you're staying but go with the 1/2 gallon of milk. Based on the fridges at CBR, that would fit. Good luck! :sunny:

I would go to www.allearsnet.com and look through the various menus in the Dining section. You can get an idea how much you would spend based on what you pick.

Keep in mind that many of the counter-service meals meals can easily be split since the portions are large, depending on what you order. If you don't want to share a soda, you can always order free ice water for each person.

I have to admit there are some places where I hold my fork ready to stab the DH if he tries to get anything off my plate! :rotfl: For those places, I tell him in advance that there's no splitting! Example: Tusker House in Animal Kingdom and ABC Commissary - I love the vegetable noodle stir fry and there's no sharing - not that it would be easy to share that type of choice.

Anyway - hope this helps... Can you tell I'm hungry by way I'm talking about food? :rolleyes1

Thanks for the tips! I'm sure that my DD and I can easily split a meal. I remember that everytime we got fries last year we ended up having a lot left over because we each bought some.

There Is A great store at the Camp Ground.
I always stop there stock up for breakfast and dinner in the room.
We go for a big lunch at the park.
You can usally get the same menus as dinner at a much cheaper price.
Here is a very fun thing to do.
The Camp Ground has a camp fire sing a-long and movie with Chip & Dale.
Every night this is open to everyone.
Take some marshmallows hot dogs roast them over the fire and have a great time. :disrocks:

I agree that $75 is too little. I have a spreadsheet with all our PS and meals planned with the amounts. PM if you want me to email it to you, it is really hand and easy to change.

Im planning on $35 for ea DS13 and myself
$5 snax (bringing some)
$5 brkfst (bringing some)
$15 PS (mostly lunches)
$10 counter
some days wont need the $5 brkfst or $5 snax - other days will need more $ for the character meals/buffets

but the $70/day for 15days gives me a starting point - anything left over usually goes to souveniers (or comes home for next WDW vacation)
and Yes since its August Im thinking we may not be eating alot either
