Goodness. How do you get from DL and then to Sea World and all the rest of it... Maybe I am just freaking out we do have about 8 months to plan:surfweb:... We have AAA so can they do all of the planning? Do you go from DL down to universal and then back to DL for the night??? :confused3Then back to sea world.. ok what do I do!!!!????????????????? train, tour buss ??????
As you can see I am a small town girl going to a BIG city..:scared1:

Can you rent a car? That is how most people get back and forth to San Diego.

We find it easiest to rent a car. We are a family of 5 so renting a car is cheaper than doing the shuttles and or taking the bus as well.

Another for rent a car.
Such a nice leisurely drive down the coast, stay the night in San Diego then head back up to LA, do Universal maybe stay a night there and do all those touristy things and finish off with Disney.
Disney is the icing on the cake.

Rent a car, I got one for oct for 225 for 11 days through priceline...it was a standard car.

And if you are going to spend more than 1 day in San Diego, I think you are best to move to a hotel in San Diego.

That is what I am planning for my next trip, because in addition to DL, we will probably go to Seaworld, SD Zoo, SD Safari Park, and probably museums in Balboa Park.

Since Universal is only a one day park, you can probably just stay in Anaheim.

Better plan on putting over 400 miles on that car...
Universal can be a one day park for sure... Definitely stay in Anaheim to see both parks - its 40 miles apart by freeway. The parking lot for Universal is on the other side of Citywalk.
There are soooooo many things to do...
Hollywood walk of fame, Santa Monica Pier, Disneyland, San Diego..

I will friend you...too much to put on board

Definately want to rent a car if you are going to do all of those things. You can do without a car quite well if you are going to stick to DLR and maybe make a day trip to a local beach. But if you planning a trip down to San Diego or up to Universal, you'll want your own vehicle.

The drive to San Diego from Anaheim varies greatly depending on the day of the week. You certainly *could* come back to Anaheim after a day down there. We live near DLR and that is what we do. But keep in mind that it will make for a late night drive when you may be very tired. That isn't always the best situation.

Thank you! Well we have changed plans due to my husband NOT wanting to drive that much SO we will be doing 4 days at DL then going to Knotts. then up to San Jose to the winchester mansion then Vallajo to the six flags discovery kingdom. Now with that said we are staing at the Best Western or Park Vue right accross from the DL croswalk on Harbor. We found a rental car on the other side of DL. SO if we wanted to get the car in the morning CAN you walk through the downtown disney area (From our hotel straight across) or would you have to go all the way around the park to get to it?

OH the address is for the ALAMO car rental. The "MAP" shows them being right on the other side of DL. IF not PLEASE someone tell me the closest.
