I think DH left a pen in a pair of pants that I washed and then put in the dryer.

The pen leaked all over and the inside of the dryer is covered with pen marks.

We are moving next week and I am not about to pay the apartment complex for a new dryer.

What can I do?

Thanks in advance!!!

You could do what I did when this happened to me. Blow a gasket and make DH figure out how to fix it:) . We have a deal that I will do all the laundry, but he has to clean out his own pockets (this took a while to agree on...he said"but my mom always cleaned out my pockets"...you can imagine how well that went over with me  ). One time he left a sharpie pen in his shirt. Major mess in the drier. It also ruined a bunch of my clothes. He felt so bad that he said he would clean it out himself. I think he used some kind of dry cleaning fluid to get it off. However, it said it was very flamable and I'm not even sure if he bought it or if it was something that had been in his parents garage forever. Good luck with whatever you try.

Here are some of the suggestions I found after searching ...

rubbing alcohol

Goo Gone Citrus

A ball point pen was in the dryer during a dry cycle and left ink on the inside of the dryer drum. How can I remove the ink stains from the dryer wall?

A. Make a paste with a granular laundry detergent and water. Use a scrub brush and scrub the paste on the interior of the drum. Wipe the paste from the inside of the dryer. Place some old towels in the dryer and run it on the highest heat setting for 30 minutes. Any stains that remain on the dryer drum should not come off on future drying loads.

My sister just had the same thing happen to her, and had good results with the Mr. Clean eraser things. Good luck!
