For all of you Ebay users. Help! I won an item on 7/18 and paid immediately (that day) through pay pal. I also paid for shipping insurance on the item. When the item was brought by the UPS man it was obviously broken and he offered to just return it. I contacted the seller and advised. Every contact I have made has been initiated by me because she never contacts me. After a couple of weeks I e-mailed her again. She didn't remember the return. I e-mailed all of the shipping info and then she finally remembered it. She advised it might take a month to get UPS to refund. It has now been over 6 weeks and she hasn't responded to any e-mails since 8/14. I have now tried to contact Ebay but my e-mail isn't going through. I have also left negitive feedback. I also tried the mediation route but I am not willing to pay $20 for a $55 item. Does anybody have any recommendations? I have used Ebay before with so-so success, some good, some not so good, but never this bad. Before I bid I checked her records and she had only 1 negative. Since I purchased this item she has gotten 6 more negative reports! How frustrating! Suggestions requested.

I know, that can be so frustrating. How about contacting one of the live help people? You can get them on the main ebay page, there is an icon on the upper right corner that says live help. That way at least you get to talk to a "real" person and he can tell you where to go from this point.

you can file a claim on ebay kinda like a non-paying bidder type thing. i would also send her a money request on paypal, i would forward all of her emails to ebay , they will ask to see these when you explain what has happened. i also contact the other people who have left negatives for her and ask them to do the same thing, i have always gotten my money back, it takes a while but it should work! heather:earsgirl:

Did you pay with your credit card using PayPal? If so, you can do a charge-back.

Just wanted to say "ditto" to using
eBay's Live Help - they were awesome
when I used them!
It's just like Instant Messaging...
It's a real person on the other end,
and they'll look up, ask, find whatever
you're needing to know about.

Hope it all works out for you!

Did the seller have a good record on ebay? Were there prior negative reviews?

Just curious.

The live help seems the way to go,

At the time I purchased she had only 1 negative out of 400. In the past 6 weeks since my purchase she has gotten 6 more negatives.

Thanks for the advice. I didn't know about the live help. I will check it out.

It sounds like something happened in her life and she wasn't able to keep up with her auctions. Is she still selling?

Unfortunately after 6 weeks you cannot file a claim with ebay or paypal..you may have to go the credit card chargeback route
