Okay, silly question....
What hairspray will hold in the humidity? I have thick hair and it is shorter so, I would like the style to somewhat hold. I use Aussie now but find when the humidity is bad it really doesn't work. I am going in August and looking for something to keep me looking somewhat styled. Any suggestions??? Thanks. :hippie:

i don't know if they even sell it anymore, but mink always worked for me in the summer. also talk to your hairstylist about products to use before youblow it dry that might help prevent the frizzies.

My uncle is a hair dresser in SW FLorida and he swears by Vita E, you can purchase it at Sallys Beauty Supply

I've been a hair stylist for almost 20 yrs. And my favorite spray for mega hold and humidity is Kenra volume spray #25. Sold in salons. Stacylm

If your hair is short try using styling wax. It will hold the style nicely with minimum hairspray. princess:

I swear by John Frieda's Frizz-Ease Moisture Barrier Hairspray. Not sticky, not crunchy, and I don't develop "Florida hair" in the humidity! LOVE this stuff!!!

Finish & hold. Fast-drying formula lasts long, stays strong. Creates an instant barrier that helps seal out humidity & combat frizz, rain or shine.

We went in June the last time we visited. It was so humid I do not think anything would have helped. I would shower/dress and then open the door to go and I was drenched from the humidity. It was like that the entire trip - I finally resorted to a pony tail. I am going in Oct and hoping for less heat and humidity. Good luck experimenting when you go!!

Thank you everyone. I think I will try the frizz ease by Frieda......I wish I could do the ponytail thing....it would solve all my problems.
Any more ideas, let me know. Thanks. Need hairspray...not wax. :thumbsup2

I have short, thick, curly hair and was about to recommend the Aussie or John Frieda, but I see everyone has those covered! :) FWIW, I swear by the extra-strength serum followed by the straightening spray - yes, straightening - it actually encourages and defines my curls. Then I counter humid days with a spritz of the Aussie. It sounds like a lot of goo on my hair, but it feels great - I hate that sticky feeling and experimented for years before I found a mix of products that will hold a style while feeling natural.

FL humidity is why after many many years of loving my short hair styles that I am growing it out to pony tail length so I can pull it back in a pony tail on the worst of days! Even short short which in PA would stay straight curls like crazy in FL!! It's finally to the point I can pool it back - but still has some way to go to be perfect!

I'm going to check int othese prodcuts. Oh for DDs straight hair!

I live in FL - and I have curly hair that I straighten everyday. I use the Frizz ease hairspray too. I just started using it about a month ago -seems to be working.

I had short hair and grew my hair out for pony tails. I am not a huge pony tail fan - but in the summer it seems like the only way to survive!

I agree! Kenra #25 is THE best and the only kind I will use as it holds and holds and holds. I usually get mine at a Trade Scret in the mall or Ulta.

Shave your head...then wear wigs...problem solved! hehe...I couldn't resist!
*hugs*
