Help! Got DDE letter not valid for trip!

I just got my letter it says the membership is valid until 6-2006 but the letter is only valid until 6-20-05. Why would they do that my trip starts 6-29! Wha tif the real cards don't come am I out of luck! Sorry to post a DDE ? but I did search and did not find this info! Thanks!! I am very worried I wasted 50.00!

I wouldn't worry. I bet that DDE plans on you getting your hard-copy card by 6/20. The letter was probably sent in case you wanted to use your membership prior to 6/20. :goodvibes
 
I'm sure that this can be worked out, from what I have read on the boards, Disney is very good and fixing just about everything! :wave:
 
Based on there computr model they expect you to get the cards by 6/20.
 

Thanks everyone- but what if they don't get here by 6-20 we leave 6-29 not enough time to remail letters as these took 9 days too! Any suggestions as to what I do?
 
Call Disney, anything shared here will be speculation at best. You really need to speak to them.

Make sure you note the person's name you talked to and date and time. Keep all your paperwork you have recieved.

Worst case is that you would have to call them and have them send a new letter to Epcot Guest Services window outside the main gate for you to pick up. We arrived at WDW Tues. 4-26. Went straight to DTD from the airport and purchased our AP's. Then we called and ordered the DDE card (it was approx 11am). They told us our letter would be at Epcot's Guest Services anytime after 5pm that same day.
 
can you activate AP at DTD? Also I plan to call them but I got this on a Saturday and they are not open and hoped someone else had this experience so it would not be speculation but experience. I am not planning on going to epcot and would like to save the trip on my first day I think they should extend the letter until the card will arrive for sure.

I'm sure everything will work out just fine. I don't think that Disney only has one place for you to go and pick up a new letter. Just try and call on Monday, and see what they say. Unfortunately its just a wait game for now. But try and enjoy this week-end and deal with it on Monday.

Sorry I wish I could help!!! I too will be purchasing this card, this week.
 
I am on my second DDE letter. (My first letter and cards expired May 1.)
A few days before the letter expired I contacted Rosa Flores. I picked up my replacement letter last Saturday at Epcot, outside of the entry gates.
I am on my 7th week of waiting for our new DDE cards to arrive.
 
It will be exactly 8 weeks one day before we leave- ugh why are they making this so difficult! Also there is only one place to get the letter Epcot! I will call monday!

It's really going to be okay, I promise! ;)

First, hopefully by next month they will get their act together over there and get those cards out in a reasonable time. They will likely "catch up" and you will get your cards before you go.

However, if you don't, you certainly didn't waste $50! All you have to do is call Rosa (or whomever answers the phone at DDE) and ask for a new letter to be sent with longer dates.

Your other option is to wait and see - if you don't get the cards in the mail, Rosa hand delivers letters to Epcot. I know she has also offered to hand deliver them to resorts for "emergencies" - but since you have so long between now and then hopefully she won't have to do that.

They will not leave you high and dry - and you've got almost two months.

I purchased my DDE at the MK. The CM phoned in the order for me right there and in 10 minutes they faxed it right over to the MK and I had the letter to show for a lunch reservation 30 minutes later. So if you don't get a satisfactory answer form DDE before you leave just go to City Hall in the MK and they will take care of it in minutes!!

The people in the DDE office are extremely helpful. If you don't get your DDE card a week or two before your trip, call and ask what you should do.
 
Debbie, was your experience VERY recent?
I would guess within the last 3 - 4 weeks guests have been told the letters are no longer being faxed.

MinniMama -- Just call them and explain your situation about a week before coming if you do not have it. You can pick up a letter at outside of Epcot (on the righthand side)
Or call again and ask for another letter to be mailed.

It will be 8 weeks of waiting for me this week. And I was told a week and a half ago we were in the next "extraction", for whatever that is worth.

At this point I don't know they ever will be caught up. They actually seem to be getting farther behind as the year progresses.
 
Thansk everyone I know I can go to Epcot I just don't want to lose touring time to do that- Epcot is not on our plan anyway I'll call and ask for a letter to be remailed for dates that end 7-6 Its only a 16 more days added so hopefully they will do it. Thanks! its just frustrating! Carole
 
When I 1st got my confimation letter, I had a question. I sent an e-mail to the same person who sent me the confimation letter. I got a response the next day to my e-mail.

Yes, you can activate you AP at Guest Services at DTD. We did it at Guest Services in the Marketplace. From what I understand you can also do it at Guest Services on the West Side.

The DDE office people seem to be very nice and helpful. I'm sure they will be able to resolve your problem to your satisfaction. Good Luck and Pixie Dust that your call to DDE goes smoothly for you on Monday. :flower:
 
I had ordered my cards in the first week of February and was emailed a letter to use for my February trip. When I want back in April, I still did not have my cards, and Rosa emailed me another letter.

My cards arrived at my Fl house on April 18th, but the post office returned them to Disney as undeliverable. (regular mailman on Vacation). Rosa called me on my cell phone on the 21st and reconfirmed everything and mailed them out again, I finally received them on the 25th.

If the post office had not screwed up, It would have taken 11 weeks to get my cards.

Call DDE, they are extremely helpful (once you get thru).

Yes, you can, but PLEASE bring your confirmation number. It can be quite difficult to look up the will call tickets by name, especially if the name is spelled wrong.
