Help!! Goofy's Kitchen this morning! Last Minutes Qs

1. DD is 20 months---will they charge for her?

2. How long does it take for "all" of the characters to come around?

3. Does the AP discount apply to all members in our party? We all have APs but does everyone have to bring them?

1. Under 3 years old is free!! So you're in luck!

2. It differs. You have a full 90 minutes to eat and wait for characters. Sometimes they hit the table before you can even get to the buffet. I've had that happen. Sometimes they show up at the table while you're at the buffet. And then other times, it may take a good 30 minutes before a character shows up at your table. After that, it could be a quick succession of characters, one after another, or there may be 10 minutes in between each one. I think it all depends on how busy they are and how many characters are 'on duty' that day (could be anywhere from 5 to 8).

3. If one person pays the bill for the entire party and uses an AP it will apply to everyone in the party. However, if you try to have people paying separately, you will need an AP for each of those people. Sometimes they will let you slide with using one person's AP for other people paying their own bills - but it's better and safer to get everyone on the same bill and then use the AP.

Oh my gosh...thanks for the quick responses!

This is a "surprise" brunch for everyone and I didn't want to spoil the surprise by calling Disney Dining in the morning and having everyone hear me ask questions

Oh wow! How fun! I know it's tricky to keep it all a secret when you are asking questions on the phone while someone else is right there. Asking the questions here is much quieter and more discreet!

Totally! But I'm not good at keeping secrets...I feel guilty. For example, DH walked in while I was posting this question and I covered my laptop. Then I thought, he won't know what I'm up to because I'M ALWAYS ON DIS anyway

Very true. If he knows you're always on here, then it probably won't be too suspicious when you're asking a question about a surprise.

It was at 10:30 a.m., just before the lunch rush. We had a WONDERFUL time. The food was actually pretty yummy, the omelet bar was delish and the service was great. Of course DD had a great time with the characters, and dancing with Pluto was the highlight. Thanks for the tips! Can't wait to go back!

Oh yay! That's great! I'm so glad to hear you all had a wonderful time. It sounds like you got there at the right time - not too close to when they shut down for the afternoon (and the characters leave) and not so early that all the characters haven't arrived yet. I'm so used to being there in the 7 a.m. or 8 a.m. hour that I don't even know what it's like there in the 10:00 hour!!

Yes, I love the food too! I'm glad to see someone else give it a good review. I would probably eat there anyway, even if there were no characters. I enjoy the food and the wide variety of choices. But lots of people say they only go there for the characters and they don't like the food. Different strokes for different folks, I guess!

Goofy's is such a great time!!! The characters at Goofy's really know how to play it up. After our dinner I was so stuffed I could barely walk (Thank goodness for stretchy pants), anyway as I was paying at the end of the meal it was fairly quiet as it was now nearing 9pm, and Pluto was standing in the front entrance area by the reservation counter where you can take a picture with him in a backdrop that looks like a kitchen. He noticed I was leaning over trying to catch my breath, and I said "Yes im stuffed I can barely walk", and Pluto keeled over holding his stomach and then held onto the wall like he was sweating. I just about died laughing. Of course I went over and joined him.

Goofy's is such a great time!!! The characters at Goofy's really know how to play it up.

I totally agree! This was my first time at a Character Meal in DLR. We've only done WDW character meals.

I noticed that the pace is ALOT more relaxed at Goofy's, the characters take their time playing around at each table (and not just for photo ops, like at WDW) and in general it makes all the customers relaxed. At WDW, you feel like they stop by, wave, take one picture with you, then rush off.

At Goofy's, I was so surprised that some characters came back just to pat my DD on her head or just to say hi on their way out.

Loved it!

And Sherry...I woke up today wanting my chorizo, red onion, jalapeno & cheddar cheese omelet which they made for me yesterday. YUM.

Yum!

I also love the bacon! There have been a couple of times over the years when the bacon was hard and not good, but most of the time Goofy's has the best bacon!! And the little mini-muffins - yum! And the fruit (like the pineapple and melon) is usually delicious!
