Help from UT Drivers

The last time we went, it was with my entire family. 17 all together. My DH drove my mom's mini-van down with myself, my brother, SIL, DD1, niece 6, and nephew 3. He said after that, we were NEVER driving again....lol....darn it.

Ill admit that the drive TO Disneyland isnt that bad with the anticipation of being at Disneyland. Its the 10hr. ride home that is miserable. But like I said before, the important thing is just getting to Disneyland. I did a rough count of the trips that we drove to Disney before we could afford to fly and I think its somwhere around 12. I would ride a Donkey to Disneyland if thats what it took to get there.:scared:

Hi Ogden neighbors ~ we're in Pleasant View. We don't drive either, love flying Jet Blue into Long Beach ~ leaving SLC @ 6:10 am arriving in Long Beach at 7:05 am (CA time) ~ so 4 hrs total leave home @ about 4 am arrive in Long Beach at 8 am UT time. $59 each flight!

That is our exact routine. I love both Jet Blue and the Long Beach airport. However, that early flight wasn't available for our next flight (May 1). From what I can tell, they've switched their early flight to 8:40. I checked many, many days and couldn't find one that had an early flight into LGB. Plus, you have to be careful what you book for coming home. We've always loved the afternoon flight (2-ish) but they've started adding a layover in Vegas to that one. So, the option is early in the morning or a late evening flight arriving at SLC at 10:00. That's great if DH doesn't work the next day but he hates having to get home so late then turn around and head to work early. He commutes to Salt Lake every day so.......

Anyway - fun to see other locals around the boards!

Do you usually do the drive in one stretch or stop somewhere overnight? We'd probably fly this time if I wasn't going to be staying there for a few weeks and can't see renting a car for that long.
We usually drive straight through. I hate spending $ on a room that we'll be in for less than a day. We have stopped many times in the past though. Most recently was last June when we had a 1 month old baby & a dog with us. We drive mainly because we like to have our own car once we're there and we don't want to waste $ renting one.

We plan on driving down again with our new car this summer- including the dog!
