Help from Previous DVC Renters

I have put a request in for Paul at the DVC Rental Store for Bay Lake Tower next June as it is now within the 11 month home resort booking window. He has no points available at this time for that as a home resort. He is going to let me know if he gets any before the 7 month window in November.

I am just looking for advice from past renters or DVC members as to whether you think I am ok waiting for this popular property or should I try and fill out a request with either Davids DVC Request or ***************. I know both of those sites require a deposit. Paul has been great to work with, but I do want to make sure we get our room. Is there a better chance of David's having points at Bay Lake Tower available now within the 11 month window.

When I was 11 months out I put in requests with both David and Paul. At the time neither had points to rent at WL. One week later one of the 2 got points so I booked. I don't think it would hurt to request from someone else. I would have been heartbroken if I hadn't gotten WL because that is where I really wanted to stay. If its what you want and do not want another resort just get another quote.

If staying at BLT is important, you should check all available options. I've heard Paul is a really nice guy, but that won't matter if you can't get the rental you want from him. Try to keep in mind that this is a business transaction. You don't owe anyone your business except the one who can get the rental you are looking for.

I agree with the others. If there is something you really want, then check around for availability. I am sure any one who has a service like this understands that if they can't provide what you are looking for then you will check elsewhere.
I've only ever rented from Davids but have had 3 trips through him and never had a single problem.
Contact him or the others now while there is still hope of getting in the 11 month window.

David's has a live chat option on their homepage. If you explain that BLT is your one and only request, he might be able to tell you if he has any points available? It never hurts to ask - all he can say is no!

I emailed him a question about doing a split stay, and I had an answer in less than 24 hours. My MIL has booked at least 3 trips with him, if not more.

Incidentally, I think it is hilarious that we refer to David like he lives next door. Just today, DH said "I like to rent from David..." like we've known him for years.

Have you checked the Dis rent/trade board? You might find an individual with BLT points to rent.

I am a BLT owner and rented some of my points out through Paul last year. He is a great guy to work with and is trying hard to get enough points to fill all of the outstanding requests for specific resorts. That being said, take a look at the R/T board and see if there are any BLT owners renting out points in the 11 month booking window. It can't hurt to keep your options open. Good luck!
