Help from one of the locals, please

Perhaps one of the DL locals or a frequent visitor can help me. I am staying at the Anaheim Marriott for a conference in the first part of April and it appears that it is within walking distance to the parks. Is this actually true? I am ok walking 20 minutes or so to get there. Just want to make sure that it is close and that the walk will be safe/well lit.

Is ART the better way to go instead of walking?

Any advice that one of the locals (or anyone, I'm not picky:) ) could give would be appreciated.

Here is the hotel website:

Thanks! I can't wait for the trip. It's my first visit!

If you walked you wouldn't be the only person making the trek but if you drove or took the shuttle you wouldn't be laughed at either if that makes sense.

The marriott is certainly within reasonable walking range but it would be a fair bit of walking. Google calculates it at 0.9 miles and 17 minutes. I think it's a bit less than that as you don't have to walk out the main door that they use but it's still going to be the better part of a mile.

I would not want to walk it, especially the walk home at the end of a long day with a lot of walking.

This isn't quite a good route to take from the Marriott. There's a pedestrian walkway from the entrance to the Marriott that goes between the Hilton and the Convention Center that goes straight to Katella and into the Timon parking lot. Certainly an easy walk.

Once you get to the lot, you can wait for the tram, or walk the rest of the way into the park entrance.

Ya, the Google map was off. While I've walked from the park to the marriott before I never considered taking the "side" road even though I drive it most trips. Great idea!

Thanks, everyone. I'll try the walkway through the convention center on the first day and go from there. I really appreciate everyone's help.
