Help! Forgot Passport- Solved!

We just landed in Houston for our cruise TOMORROW and one member of our party forgot her passport. We tried to overnight it but can't find anyplace that will do so on a Sunday. What are our options?? Are there any?? Help Disboards!!

The airlines do same day freight. You can use it to ship a package. It'll be guaranteed to be on a specific flight and you can pick it up when it arrives in Houston.

I tried that in Vancouver for a cruise 3 days later and could not get that done! Harder then it sounds, and would not forward me to places that might be able to help.
talk to port about a passport copy sent by fax? Since it would already be entered into the system???? Maybe????

This happened to us a few years ago and it was very stressful. What ended up happening is that we were put in touch with a supervisor and had a birth certificate faxed to the port. She had her drivers license. She was able to use that to sail. Good luck!

You cannot use a passenger airline for cargo. You have to be a known shipper to do that. You can however use UPS Express Critical or FedEx Same Day which is available 24/7/365.

Won’t be cheap though and you better hurry — it’s getting late in the day.

You cannot ship with a passenger airline unless you are a known shipper. If someone doesn’t know what that is then they are definitely not known shippers. UPS Express Critical / FedEx Same Day are the options.

Since you are on a closed loop cruise, you can use a birth certificate. That happened to us a few years back. We had my FIL get the birth certificate and fax it to us at our hotel. We were able to print it and they accepted it at the port. I think an email would work, too. It just has to be printed and it did not have to be the original. This does not work if it's a way one trip but it should for yours. From what I understand this policy has not changed. We had to do this for our whole family.

On a side note, I keep those copies in my carry on and have also scanned every birth certificate, passport, social security card and drivers license in my family and keep them in my notes on my phone just in case. They can't be used as official documents but at least I have them in case of emergency. But the birth certificates can be printed and used in a pinch.

Are you a member of any groups for your cruise? Anyone flying out of your home airport later tonight or tomorrow morning that could bring it to you? If you have someone that can get it and bring to airport?

First of all, contact Disney! They have an image of the passport, and if that person has any other type of ID, they may have a solution for you. I'm sure you are not the first group this has happened to. Good luck.

It's not just a Disney thing, though. You'll need official documents to get back into the country through customs and border protection. They might not accept a printed passport copy from Disney.

Hello everyone! Thank you for all the suggestions. It was much appreciated in a stressful situation. We have gotten a copy of her birth certificate sent to us and should hopefully be good to go!!
