Hello!

I was reading this article: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090217/ap_on_go_pr_wh/obama_stimulus because I like to think that I'm going to learn something from this stuff, but I usually end up more confused! :confused3

I was wondering about this particular part:

The measure includes a $400 tax break for most individual workers and $800 for couples,

Curious as to whether we will need to file an amendment to our taxes, which we've already filed, or is this for the 2009 tax year and we just get it next year when we file?

I'm sorry, I don't like to display my ignorance, but there's just so much of it it's hard to hide ;)

Thanks for any clearing up of this, and PLEASEPLEASEPLEASE don't turn this into one of those political-bashing threads!! :thumbsup2

It will come in the form of a change to the tax tables so you will get the money in each paycheck over the course of the year, not as a lump sum payout.

And it starts in June - roughly $13 per paycheck if paid bi-weekly, and then will drop to under $8 per bi-weekly check in January 2010.

Good; I hate doing taxes the first time, was dreading having to do it again :) Thanks for the info!
