Hi -

I was wondering if a Shamu Sized (shrek sized, pooh sized) person can fit on the rides at Seaworld. DH is a size 3x/4x and broad shouldered. Any tips? I know the shows will work for him, but what about the other adventures!!

Thanks:thumbsup2

There's usually a ride seat outside the coasters, so you can see if he fits into them before getting in line. I've seen some pretty big guys get on, and I also saw a very large breasted woman get off because they couldn't pull down the harness.
Atlantis might be a tight squeeze. But the ride is fairly lame anyways, so you're not missing much.

Other than that, you shouldn't have any issues. For wild artic, there's the "walking" version, which you just sit on bench seating to see the video rather than being in the simulator. A few times on the sim and I'm done... of course now I use the passport member entrance and skip it all together.

Besides Kraken and Manta, I don't see where he would have a problem. Although the kiddie rides are a tight sqeeze for some. But that's cause they're meant for little kiddos.

My buddy is a shrek shaped guy he rode all the rides with no issues...

On Kraken, rows 4 and 5 have the big boy seats, the other rows can be a problem. Manta is a more forgiving, should be alright. Journey to Atlantis is just a pull-down bar, like Big Thunder Mountain--again, probably should be fine.

BUMP

Our trip is getting close!!! Any new thoughts on this? Here is a pic of us.

Your husband looks very similar build/size to my buddy who rode everything while we were at SW. :)

I was excited last year because I lost weight and was able to go from the plus size seat on the Hulk coaster at IOA to the regular size seat. Hoping I'll fit in the regular size seats at Sea World's rides next weekend?!?

Thank you - that is very helpful!!! Do they have trial seats in kind of hidden places? Who wants to sit in the seat when the whole world is watchin!!!

I see at as I will never see these people again kinda thing. So having the test seats in front of the entrance does'nt bother me.

A far as the size ,I've seen larger ride.So go and enjoy!!:thumbsup2

You should be able to fit just fine. The last two years I had to sit in the modified seats for Hulk, Dueling Dragons and Kraken (at SW). But I was fine in the normal seat for Manta at SW (go figure). This year, I've lost 20 pounds so I'm ready to go for the front row. FYI - I ran into the same thing at Busch Gardens. Modified seats for most coasters, except the newest one Sheikra.

Anyone willling to PM me their size or measurements so I can measure DH and I???

Manta doesn't have larger seats but are much more accomodating than the seats on rides like Hulk, Dragons and Kraken. I can usually get 1 click or 2 if I really staple myself in on Superman at Six Flags (same type of ride as Manta). One thing that annoys me about those restraints on inverted coasters like Montu and Dragons is the same type of ride at a different park can have different length belts. At one park near me there is a coaster like Dragons called Great Bear, I can use the regular seat on that coaster without a problem but Batman at Six Flags which is also the same type of ride as Dragons I am not even close to being able to buckle the belt a nd Batman does not have the larger seats. I am working on losing the weight to be able to ride Batman (another 10 pounds or so should be enough, after that I need to lose another 25 pounds at least for El Toro a very restrictive wooden coaster) but it is still fusturating.

I hate using the larger seats also because you sometimes have to explain it to others. They always put the larger seat in the middle of a row and I usually ride larger coasters alone so if I am the first one to board a row and a group of 3 is behind me, they expect me to move all the way to the end of the row so they can sit together and then I have to explain that I need the larger seat and it isn't a problem but I hate having to do that.
