Ok,

So we looked at the site, but no absolutely nothing when it comes to Disneyland Paris. Half board vs full board? What hotel? What excursions or character meals? How many days for tickets needed? Can someone help us understand better when planning for the first time. Thanks

Half board vs full board?

The standard Hotel and park tickets package includes breakfast. The breakfasts are buffet style, continental (no hot items, tea, coffee, fruit juice, cereal, toast and mini croissants, selection of cold meats, cheeses) in the lower and mid price hotels, and in the higher price hotels, hot items like scrambled eggs, sausage and bacon

The meal plans are extra and paid in advance. You get vouchers when you check in. The vouchers can only be used in Disney owned restaurants and usually there is a set menu for those on the meal plans. I have been twice to Disneyland Paris , with a third trip booked for February. I dont use the meal plans, I prefer to pay as I go. I usually fill up on breakfast, snack during the day and have a main meal in the evening. To me the meal plan vouchers are a waste of money, as I would not eat the amount of food to get the value from them.

What excursions or character meals?
Depending on the lenght of you stay, the only excursion most people do at Disneyland Paris, is a day trip to Paris. You can get the train from the Disney Resort direct to central Paris. There is also a town beside the resort called Val d'Europe, which has a shopping centre etc.

character meals?
Character meals are at
Auberge de Cendrillon - Princesss Meal

How many days for tickets needed? Can someone help us understand better when planning for the first time. Thanks

Disneyland Paris has 2 parks, Disneyland and Hollywood Studios
Both parks are beside each other, similar to Disneyland California and park hopping is very easy
Most people do a 4 day, max 5 day trip. Disneyland Paris is a smaller more compact version of Disneyland California. Most people spend 1 day at the studios and 3 days in the main park.

Most people stay onsite but like Anaheim and Florida, there are many affordable off site hotels too.

Disneyland Paris is undergoing a major refurb program in 2015 and 2016, with many ride and attraction closures

Disneyland Paris is very different to the American Disney parks. I explain it as a Frenchified version of an American style themepark, with the social and cultural aspects and behaviours of France / Central Europe.

There are many unique rides and aspects in Disneyland Paris compared to the American parks. Most of the ride and attraction audios are in French language

If you want to go into Paris it would probably be cheaper to get a day ticket for the train, from outside the Disney parks and make your own way around paris that way. It's really easy to follow what train stops near what attraction and I think it was only 15 euro for an entire days train ticket. We went to the Arc de Triomphe, Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame ourselves doing this.

The hotels depend what you are looking for. Disney have several "on site" hotels and several good neighbour hotels that are really close by and have free shuttle bus.

Hi! If you want, there is a link in my signature (below) that will take you to my trip report on my blog. I was in your shoes before we went, so I understand it can be overwhelming, which is why I write the blog :) If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask!

We are going to Paris next year but only planning on doing DLP for 1 day and purchasing 1day/2 park super ticket. I'm just wondering if both could realistically be done as long as we don't go in expecting to do everything.

It's doable, but just know it takes a while to get out to the parks from Paris, so leave early as possible to get there when the park opens! You will just get a small taste of what each park has to offer, however, both are pretty small!
