We are going on our first cuise. Is this a good rate for a 4 day cruise in Jan '06 cat 12 $1140.52 for me, DH, and 2 two year old DD? Price does not include travel ins. We are going to get that from insmytrip.com. What level of service should you expect from a TA? We requested a quote from Small World TA on a 3 day cruise. After pricing the 4 day cruise changed our minds because 4 day was only $100 more for whole family on DCL. I emailed the travel agent I was assigned to but never heard back from her on prices for 4 day cruises. Since TA's price for 3 day cruise were exactly same as DCL we booked on our own. I emailed TA again thanking her for her help and said we'd keep her in mind for future Disney trips. Again no response. I am disappointed in service we received. Should I be?

Also I know I read on here about Sam's club discounts for cruises. Anyone know what those are?

I would talk to Dana at MICDAN.COM - She does not ignore people, or "forget" about them and she has the best deals by far.

Absolutely!! My expectations of a TA are a lot higher. When I send an email or leave a voice mail message, I expect some kind of response within 24 hours max (even if it's a quick note/call saying "I'm researching this for you; I'll get back to you in xx hours/days"). Now, granted if I send the email or leave the message Friday nigth or Saturday I do not expect any kind of response until Monday....

I also expected "value" from a TA. If all I get is a reservation at a price I could've booked myself directly, why bother? If I get someone that can respond to my questions, do all of the tedious leg work for me, quality control my travel docs, stay on top of any changes in cruise line (or State Dept) policy changes, etc. then it's worth going through a TA for me, even if the price is identical to what I get booking direct with the cruise line.

Weird. I just got off the phone with her not 10 minutes ago and she called me from her cell while *she* was on vacation. :earseek:

Try leaving her a voicemail at the 800 # .. I always hear back from her very quickly.

What is TA's website or phone number please? I am looking to book a Nov trip.

Thanks

Dana - MICDAN.COM/Cruise Planners - 1-800-385-8233. I know she is out of the office right now but is amazing returning phone calls - just leave a message if nobody picks up!
