Hello everyone- I am in need of any suggestions you have. I am talking my 4 year old on our first Big Mother/Daughter trip this December. We are staying at the Pop resort but am considering jumping up to a Mod. Do you think this would be wise being just the 2 of us? Also, which character dining experiences are the best and which park has the best meeting with the characters? Any other suggestions or comments you might have to make this the best trip for us would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much! :flower: :earsgirl:

:flower: If you can swing it I would go for a Mod. POR is wonderful. On a personal note : Your little one will love the visuals at POP but when my Ds and I stayed there for two nights last summer the beds were like Flinstone beds. I Love POR. Our first trip years ago we stayed at All Star Sports and I like the All Star resorts much better than POP. I can't afford POR this coming December so we are booked at ASMovies but if a good rate comes along for POR we will change.

My pick for best character interaction is the Magic Kingdom-especially first thing in the morning. Also, try to get there whe the park opens and go to the shop where she can wake Tinkerbell. I think it is just through the Castle but I am not sure. Other disers can tell you for sure. And get her hair done at the barber shop.

Have a great time!

I'm a single mom so it's usually just DD5 and I when we go to WDW. We have so much fun just the 2 of us. In December, I'd stay at a value. You may as well save the money and the main reason we stay at moderates is for the better pools. We didn't do much swimming in December when we stayed at Pop. As for character meals, our favorites are Garden Grill and 1900 Park Fare. Both have great character interaction. You'll also find plenty of character greetings at all 4 parks. We found the shortest character lines to be at World Showcase in Epcot. I would check out MVMCP as well. It's a lot of fun and there are hardly any lines.

You will be fine at POP. I travel solo with my kids and we usually stay at a value resort, POP being our current favorite. MK has many characters so make sure you set aside time to wait in line for them. The character tent in Toon town is a great way to meet the princesses, pooh characters and whatever other characters they have in the third line. You can also meet Mickey at his house, although we also saw him by the flag pole at the front of the park every morning. For character meals it all depends on who she wants to meet. For pooh and the gang go to Crystal Palace, Mickey and pals you can either go to Chef Mickey's or our new favorite Liberty Tree tavern, or for princesses try for the castle or the princess breakfast in Norway.

With a little one it is worth it to have a sit down meal where you can relax and be waited on.

edited to add DD didn't logout again! bobcat
