Family of 5,children ages 8,13, 16 are going to DW for the first time Feb 5-16. I've read so much on the internet my eyes hurt. Finding a hotel for 5 seems very difficult on site, my husband doesn't want to rent a car and we want to keep the cost down.I read in a previous post about a 4 bedroom pool home for 80.00 a night! Does anyone know the name? I haven't came across one this cheap and then maby we could have the extra money to rent a car! Also could someone give me ideas on the best place to by tickets? We plan on abt. 5 days at DW Parkhopper and Waterpark, 1day SW, 2days Universal Studios, and 2 days of something else. Have I given us enough time? Any advice would be appreciated!!!!!

First of all step back and take a deep breath..lol.
I would look into the All Star family suites the have now..i believe its one Queen, and a sleeper sofa, a chair that unfolds to a bed and an ottoman that does the same. It has 2 bathrooms and a kitchenette(correct me if i am wrong someone..lol :P)
You could also look into 2 connecting rooms at a value resort.
As far as not getting a car, how are you going to get around to SW, and Universal..that could get costly..I guess you could just rent for the few days you need it.
I have always bought my tickets through Disney..ahead of time. Someone else may have somewhere cheaper to recommend. Good luck, you will have a great time!

My Sis and her family of five just met us for a wonderful family vacation. We all stayed at Port Orleans Riverside. She said the Disney travel folks told her that they could accomodate her there. Rather tight fit, but a wonderful resort that we have stayed at probably more than 20 times. We have Universal tix as well as Busch/Seaworld. I rarely go to Seaworld anymore. Once you've seen it...Universal has big boy roller coasters. If your family is OK with that, cool. Don't rent a car unless you absolutely feel the need to fight Otown traffic. You can purchase Disney tix upon checkin. Busch/Seaworld can be purchased online as well as Universal. I don't know where you live, but us Floridians do NOT go swimming in the winter. It can be rather cold during Feb. Can be rather warm as well. Perhaps BOTH while you are here. You might want to forego waterparks. Hotel pools will be open, and there are a lot of them. As for the something else, there is the Nasa Space Center at Cape Canaveral. It is a truly unique experience, especially if there is an orbiter on the launch pad. This would entail a car and nearly an hour trip to the east coast each way. My Sis and family did it, (I've not been there in years). They raved about it. If you choose, and must rent a car, be assured that Orlando is the single most popular resort location in the world. This means car rentals are quite reasonable on a national scale. Good luck on the fuel, however!
Enjoy, and look for us, we stay at Disney at least once a month.

just have to say always buy your tickets from the park itself...discount tickets normally come with a required time share visit...and you always run the risk of the tickets not being Valid....
For familys outside of disney i recomend the new Nick hotel...its rates are good and they can sleep 5...Plus its in the middle of everything...
If you are off property make sure your hotel has a bus system to the parks or you rent a car (cabs in Florida are not cheap)

Good luck and enjoy....even if you dont get to see everything its ok...you can always come back another year....so dont over book yourself

If you go to www.mousesavers.com and join their newsletter (it is sent on the 15th of every month), you can purchase slightly discounted tickets through ticketmania.com and undercovertourist.com. You must click thru the mousesavers newsletter link to get the extra discount. I have purchased through both and have been very pleased. I believe both sites include tax in their prices but ticketmania has a shipping charge ($6 I think) whereas undercovertourist ships for free. Keep in mind that the prices you will see on disney.com do NOT include tax so even though the prices might seem very close, be sure you are comparing prices with tax.

you could always try a place off site that has a shuttle included so you would not have to rent a car. We stayed at comfort in inn lake bunea vista . we had 2 rooms our kids meals were free and the shuttle brought us back and forth with no problems and it help to keep the cost down. the room had a fridge and micro . you can get discounts with the orlando magic card! :grouphug:

The best research tool I have found to plan our WDW vacation is "The Unofficial Guide to WDW 2006". It is filled with planning, making the most of time & money, accommodations (on site & off site), tickets, info on all the theme parks, shopping, dining, etc. Great, great book, lots of links for websites. It has 800 pages, written by Bob Sehlinger & I'm sure you can find it at your local bookstore. I'm sure you can type in the title on line & order a copy that way too. Good luck.
