I was told to park on 3rd floor and use the walkway to the Disney Ship!

HELP. WHAT PARKING PLACE IS IT? I looked and there are so many. Do you need to book a ticket prior to the trip?

The cm gave us the 2nd level on the Dream . She said it was a good place for first time cruisers.
Hopefully this is true????
Thanks and have a magical nite

You are referring to the parking garage located on site at Port Canaveral. On the 3rd floor of the parking structure, there is a walkway/bridge connecting it to the cruise terminal. There are TSA staff at the garage to check that you have your tickets and in the terminal to go thru security. (TIP: Drop off your luggage curbside before you park in the garage.)

The line going through security from the 3rd floor garage is sometime shorter than the main entrance. If you end up parking on another floor, there is a set of elevators that are pretty quick.

From the DIS DCL FAQ:

Parking - Parking at the Port is $15 a day. *** American Express is NOT accepted at the parking lot. When you arrive at the parking garge or lot you will receive a ticket and then pay as you exit after the cruise.***

New rates effective Thurs. 10/6/2011

3-night cruise - $60
4-night cruise - $75
5-night cruise - $90
7-night cruise - $120

ETA: Second Deck on the Dream means you either have an Inside or Porthole cabin. This is the lowest passenger deck, which isn't necessarily a bad thing for a first time cruiser (I always recommend booking low and midship for the best stability). You will have longer elevator rides to top deck for buffets and pool but just a short walk to Deck 1 for ports (disembark) and main restaurants decks 2 & 3.

This is the one we use when we sail out of Port Canaveral. We've never had any problems with them. I recommend making your reservation and paying online ahead of time. It makes it easier when you arrive. We also drop our luggage off at the Port before parking our vehicle.
Have fun on your cruise. We've become addicted to cruising and are getting ready to head out for another 7 day adventure in about a week. Sailing to New England and Canada this time :)

Explorer of the Seas from Bayonne, Brilliance of the Seas from Boston ? or are you leaving from Manhattan?

To OP's original question

There are several garages but each garage is tied to a specific terminal (in general). Disney has ONE garage for their exclusive use. It is clearly marked by signs.

Off site, which IS much cheaper .... I use http://parkcruise.com/

these guys started the off site parking in Canaveral and are 5 minutes away (one exit on 528)

ParkPortCanaveral is the Radisson's use of the unused parking areas of the United Space Alliance (shuttle support company) across the street. A rather newcomer to the game in town and reviews have been mixed (they don't often use all their shuttles it appears . . . . they share the Radisson shuttle fleet. Who gets priority, the hotel or the parking lot?)

This is great information for my husband and I. We are driving fromt TX to FL for our 1st cruise. Thanks again!

Wow. Almost a year later I see your message, not sure how I overlooked it. My apologies to you.
We sailed out of Manhattan. We had actually done a driving vacation from Orlando to NY and got such a good price on the cruise we couldn't turn it down. We were on the Carnival Glory.
Our next trip is is September out of Port Canaveral on the Sunshine. Looking forward to it :)
