I've looked for months and can't find something that will work, so thought you guys could help out. We're building a house, and each kid has their own bathroom with an attached walk in closet. I don't want a door there - let's be realistic, it won't get closed anyway. So, in my daughter's closet doorway, I'm hanging a set of pink and purple beads. And my DS wants beads too, but I can't find any that would be appropriate. His bathroom will be red and blue (primary shades) with a sports theme. What I would love to find is a set of beads with each bead a different type of ball (baseball, football, basketball, etc), but at this point, I'd settle for anything that would match.

And, if necessary, any other options? I really don't want the door there. I could do a curtain, but I was hoping for something unique.

Thanks!!!

put your mouse over "event merchandise" and then click "sports beads" I have no idea how long the bead strands are (I'm thinking necklace length). Maybe you could make your own.

I never used this site, just found it searching.

If you go to the Spencer's website and look under decor/curtains, you'll find some.

I like the idea of using the necklaces...never thot to do that, just tie em together somehow. Lord know we have enuf mardi gras beads to make curtains for everyone on the internet. (the dress up daughter...lol)

Oh and you are right, they will never close the doors, so why bother. I rent and usually take off the closet doors first thing..weird I know but it saves space, makes the room look bigger, and I dont have to worry about a 4 y.o accidently getting stuck in there. LOL Tho at times I wanna put her in there....lol

If you are building a house, think about when you will sell it. I think you should put doors in and then hang the beads over the open doorways or take the doors off and store them. Don't just skip them altogether.

I've found several football beads while looking online that I like. They're necklaces, but if cut, they would be about the right length. Now I'm trying to figure out someway to connect them to some type of - well something to hang them with.

Only thing I'm worried about is them getting tangled. DD had a set once that was constantly getting tangled and drove me insane. The set I've bought her is larger with not as many tiny little beads in between to twist around, so I'm hoping that will help. We'll see.

I'm also thinking about the bamboo ones as well. We have friends that just moved back from Hawaii, and they've got a set that they bought there. They NEVER get tangled. It would be tedious, but I'm wondering if I couldn't paint the beads the colors of his room.

ok I have idea. Get a chuck of flat plastic, like a bar shapped peice. Drill holes in it and then shove the beads through the hole. Use a bigger bead to hold it on.

Anyways for hanging it, have you seen eye hooks (i think thats what there called) there like a circle on the end attached to a screw. I used two of them to hang my heavy beaded curtain

Five Below carries different types of bead curtains. I've seen different things every time I go in there.. I've seen moons, stars and long bead type things.

We don't have one of those stores. But I did find a website late last night with a TON of curtains. I haven't looked completely through it, but I did find several that I could work with. http://www.shopwildthings.com/

We have the bamboo curtain thing for our walk in closet, it has a sail boat painted on it. It looks really pretty and really like a work of art. I think I got it at Burlington.

Well, he likes these - http://www.shopwildthings.com/gldast.html

Not exactly the look I was going for, but they will work fine for now. He's only 5, so I'm thinking he may not like them for long. He just likes that they glow in the dark! At least it will give me something to put there while I'm looking for something else more "sporty" :)

Limited too used to carry these, and so did Spencers. My DD had a set back in her "pink" phase. We just hung them in front of the open door. I didn't have problems with them tangling.
