Hi guys,

Really need your help with this one. I currently have a reservation under the Fantasmic Dinner Package at H&V. I know as many people love it as hate it, but we've been twice over the last few years and like it.

My dilemma is that this reservation is for 5pm (the latest you can get under the package). We're staying at the Poly and I'm concerned we won't have enough time to take a resort break during the day and get back to dinner in time for our ressie. Our stay is during July so it's gonna be hot and steamy in Orlando.:cool2:

A reservation is available at 50's PT at 6:05, which is when I would prefer to get back to the Studios, but I'm a little worried that seating is going to be a lot harder to get for Fantasmic now that they've cut back on the days it's showing.:headache:

Which should I pick? :confused3

I don't have any advice, but wanted to let you know that I am faced with the same decision right now. We have a 3:40 ressie at Mama Melrose with the F! package, and I really love my midday breaks. The only option I could come up with was leaving the park around 12 and taking a short break before heading back to HS. Don't know if it will work, and I'll probably play it by ear that day.

Good luck!

Add one more to the what to do list. 3:45 at MM for 4 or 50;s PT for the whole bunch. Is Famtasmic really worth it?

I hope some answers your question. I am planning on doing the package, but would rather eat at Sci Fi. What to do?

Absolutely! I was so bummed when I heard they were cutting back on nights at the park. I planned my park days on this trip a bit around seeing Fantasmic.

We have a 3:45pm ressie at H&V for a Fantasmic package on our first day (well, full day, anyway). We plan on hitting rope drop (not sure which park yet), then taking a break around 11am to go back to SSR. We'll head back to DHS around 3, essentially making H&V a late lunch (since we'll still be on Chicago time, it'll work out), and we'll grab a CS meal on our way to Fantasmic later that night. Should hopefully work out...

I have never done the Fantasmic Package.

I love 50's prime time, so we always opt to eat there. Just walk up and get seats for Fantasmic! You certainly don't need the dining pkg to get great seats!

I guess this depends on how long you are willing to wait in line. If you are going in busy season, you can hardly just walk up to Fantasmic and get great seats. Most people report having to get in line 1 1/2 to 2 hours early for good seats. Now that Fantasmic is playing on a more limited schedule those times will probably increase. That being said, the dinner package is not necessarily what it used to be either. In the past, you went in through a separate entrance and could get there only 30-45 minutes early and still have plenty of seats in the special section. Now everyone has to enter in the same place and even with the package it is still recommended to get there up to an hour early.

We are going to Disney in 2 1/2 weeks and since we saw Fantasmic on our last trip, we are skipping it this time. We are hoping that between that and American Idol, lots of people will be taken away from some of the main attractions and we can hopefully have shorter waits to ride some of our favorites again. I just can't see committing possibly 3 hours to one attraction between the wait time, time of the show, and then time to get out. If you've never seen it, maybe it would be worth it.

So worth it for us, though. And if I even doubted it, as I was reading this the finale music played on my iPod. So we are soooo going, LOL.
