Got a few questions while planning my trip?

We will be going from May 29-June 4 to DW and are afraid of what the crowds may be like. Our first day in the parks is Memorial Day and the next 6 days after that. Will it be very crowded?

We will also be there over Star Wars Weekend. Will most of the people be participating in those events and we can tour MGM comfortably? Or will that be extremely crowded as well?

Also, what is the weather like during this timeframe? Does it rain a lot?

Also, we are booked at the Pop Century, but are thinking about upgrading. Does anyone know of any discounts during this time? We are thinking about an AP?

Finally, if we buy a regular ticket and then decide we want to parkhop later, can we add that in the middle of our trip (knowing we'll have to pay the full $35) and/or can we add days if we stay longer? Where do we go to do that?

Any help would be terrriffic! Going nuts - can't even spell!

i am going to be down there starting June 1st. not only is it Star Wars Weekend it is Gay Days. I have read on the boards that it is not too crowded everywhere in the studios but pretty crowded at the Star Tours area. about the Gay Days, if you look on their website it tells what days they are going to be at what particular parks. ( Just to clarify, I am not saying to avoid because of the "celebration" itself, I am recommending becaust that will put thousands more people in various parks throughout the "days" and to avoid those parks would be a good idea)
we are staying at POP too. Cant wait.
i dont know about the weather, i am assuming it will be pretty nice. have a wonderful time.

We'll be there from May 29th through June 2. We were at Disneyworld last year about the same time and though crowded it was not too bad.Hoping that it will be the same this year. :wave2:

Does anyone know if Carousel of Progress and Wonders of Life will be open? I know they're seasonal, but will they be open since it's summer?

We were there the week after Memorial Day last year. To me, it was crowded, but I don't have much experience at WDW. Anyway, it rained in the afternoon just about every day. 2-3 of those days, there were really bad thunderstorms with lightning. Good thing is, most of the times, the rain doesn't last too long.
I'm from Louisiana, and even to me it was pretty hot.
We did have a good time, nonetheless.

We visited last year during the first week of June...the 3rd through the 7th or so. Here's what we found....

Gay Days did not affect the crowds too bad, we simply avoided MK on that Sat. because it's supposed to be the busiest.

MGM during Star Wars weekends was not worse except beside the Star Tours ride. This area was very congested and difficult to maneuver around...try to detour by the Sci-Fi Dine in instead of going straight through the crowds.

In general it was more crowded than our trips in Oct, but less crowded than our trips at Christmas. AK seems the hottest and most crowded..the paths are smaller...plan for lots of breaks at this park. It was miserable!

Weather was hot and it rained every day we were there. Most of the days it was simply a downpour around 3 or 4 and we were in our hotel resting. Due to the heat, this is a great idea...hang out, swim whatever at the hotel for a couple hours, then head back to the parks. Avoided a lot of rain that way as well. Make sure you have ponchos because it WILL rain.

AP rates will probably be coming out in the next week or so for that time frame, from what DH has told me. Hopefully this is right, because we're trying to plan a June trip as well!

As far as adding to your tickets, you could probably do this at your hotel at guest services or at any guest services in the parks.

I just checked the Gay Days schedule since I had planned to go to MK on Saturday, but didn't want to if it was going to be extra crowded. Anyway, Saturday is Gay Day at IOA. MK Gay Day is Sunday.

Just a little FYI to help with your planning.

Actually, there are two seperate groups. While it is true that one group eill be at Universal, the other is going to be at Magic Kingdom on that Saturday!

You, too! I thought that we would die at AK. It was sooo hot! I didn't think that June wouldn't be so bad, but, my goodness, we Louisianians were frying! :teeth:

We'll be there from May 29-June 4 as well. Thanks for asking this, as we were also wondering about crowds.

Any game plans for you all yet, as to what parks on what days? We are thinking Epcot on Monday, MK Tues., M'Ville/resort Wed., EP and MK Thurs., and MK Fri.

If this isn't the best way to do it, let us know as we've only been one other time, and we only made it to barely 2 parks as we all got very sick and had to fly home.
Thanks!

:earsgirl: We are going to MK Sunday-early afternoon then MGM Sunday night (Extra evening magic hours).Monday we will go back to MGM -we have a SCI FI ressie for lunch. Hopefully, we will have time to hit AK my DD only likes Kali River Rapids, A Bug's Life, and Lion King.Tuesday all day at EPCOT. Wednesday and Thursday we will go back and do whatever her favorites are.
Friday we are moving to Universal. We've been enough times to know what we want to do and what we'll skip. If you haven't been lately, by all means, see it all. We love all of Disney. :cheer2:

Here's our plan:
Sun: Arrival - Downtown Disney and Resort Hop
Mon: AK (morning) - MGM at night
Tues: MK
Wed: EPCOT
Thurs: MK
Fri: MGM
Sat: MK - Depart late

We are HUGE MK fans and just love all the Disney Magic! We will NEVER be able to get up for EMH and I'm traveling with my parents (who won't be able to take more then 12 hours in the parks -so night hours are out too)

We plan to hit the parks at 9:00 EVERY morning so as to maximize that time and then just stay as long at night as we want. If we want to leave at 7, 9, or what, it doesn't matter!

Counting the days!!!
