So Confused!!!

We want to go on a Disney 7 Night (first time on a Cruise) and have never been to any of the places the ship ports. They all sound nice to us and we just can't decide.

Which do you recommend, Eastern or Western?

Thanks!!!!!!!

We did the eastern in 2001 and the Western in 2002. We are rebooked to do the western again in 2004.

Mainly the reasoning is that we thought St. Marten was just OK, although St John was fabulous.

We absolutely loved snorkeling and stingray city in GC and hubby thought Cozumel was a blast.

Again, this is just my opinion.

I really prefer the western...I think the ports are a little more fun..Also, Key west is a great destination for us, since it's too far a drive for a short weekend...

Although we haven't done Western (YET!!) we like the fact that the Eastern has an additional day at sea. If you're in it for the ports, that might be a negative. We like the ports too but really enjoy those relaxing days at sea.

If the kids are old enough make it a family decision. When we started looking at the 7 day we printed out both itineraries and sets of excursions. Then each of us went through and marked those items that sounded MOST interesting. We have cruised before but shorter 3 & 4 day trips. In the final tally there was more stuff we were interested in on the Western - a bigger variety perhaps is one way to describe it.

The ports on the western are a bit nicer than the eastern and you get 1 more of them, too. The shopping is better at the eastern ports, though. But that's a thing to consider too, the eastern is more relaxed than the western because you get that extra day at sea to enjoy the ship and everything that taking place there. First decide what you'd like to do if you went on each, I would compare excursions and excursion costs from each of the itineraries first, whether or not it's Disney or a local one. Then look at the navigator(activity sheet from the ship) to get an idea of what's offered on the ship during the at sea days to see if they interest you or your family. I would weigh what you'd like to do on each itinerary and decide that way. All of the information can be found on the following sites:

Having done both 7 day and a 4 day cruise, I'd have to say that my husband and I like the eastern better, but that's just us.

Best of luck and I know you'll enjoy either one.

Since this will be the first Cruise for us, we decided on the Western because of the extra port. Plus, if we like it, we can do the Eastern sometime:D
They both sound really nice.
Thanks!
