HELP! DVD Has Fallen Off into DVD Player!!!

It was totally my fault! I tried moving a DVD player while it was playing, tilted it, and the DVD must of slid off of the thingie that takes it into and out of the machine and is now stuck somewhere in the DVD player!

I cannot see it, but I think that I hear it. I have tried tipping it toward me, but I cannot see it.

I have tried to remove the case, and I got 4 screws off of the sides, but the back ones seem impossible. Besides when I kind of look inside, it doesn't look like I can really get to anything.

I am afraid that I have ruined the player and lost a rented DVD. Is there ANY hope for this?

My husband usually handles this type of situation in our household, but if it happened to me and he wasn't around, I would take it to a specialist.

If you can't get the cover off of the DVD player I think you are in trouble. DH picked up our 5 CD changer when we were moving a couple years ago and all 5 cd's fell back inside the machine. NOT GOOD! He was able to unscrew the cover and take it off so he just had to pull the cd's out. Good luck!!

I think you should take it to an electronics shop and let them handle it.

Oh Thank GOD! I just took and turned the whole thing upside down and the tray was able to go completely back in and then come back out WITH the disc! A little askew! But it is out of there! Thank GOD!

Everyone else was sleeping and I didn't want to tell anyone else how STUPID I was. Now to screw the screws back in, put everything back in place, and get to bed - where I should have been in the first place.
