Darling little pup peed on the couch one day and I soaked it up with paper towels, used water AND TONS of that enzyme spray that's $10 at Petsmart. It dried and the pee smell was still there. I tried again. Scrubbed with water, applied a TON of enzyme spray. So much of that spray, you could smell the spray (smelled like that solution you'd rub on newly pierced ears). I thought okay, that should do it. Just stuck my nose on the couch, by the way the cushions are sewn in, i.e. totally not removable and that pee smell is still there! Is there something else I could try. Is it possible I didn't spray enough for it to soak through the 8 inch foam of the cushion? Gah

Nature's Miracle.

Yeah, that's the spray I've been using. Am I not using enough. I think I've used half of the bottle just on the couch and I can still smell it. I'm just thinking, I have to sleep on this couch in two weeks and if I'm smelling pee I'll be one miserable girl

OK- my dog has peed on the couch 2 x and my bed 2x.... (luckily it didn't soak the mattress).

When she got the couch I soaked the cushions with water to flush out the urine, and then soaked it with the Nature's Miracle. You may have to use it a few times, let it dry, use it again.

Also, I didn't get the spray- I have it in a pourable bottle. I poured it on, soaked it up with a towel, repeat.

Hope it helps!!

Natures Miracle is the way to go. Our cat was peeing on the couch and it took forever to get the smell out. THose foam cushions are brutal....they really don't soak up the stuff, it kinda runs through or off it. Soak it really good...don't spray...pour! then lots of pressure to make sure the stuff stays in there. Do the surrounding area quite a ways out, just in case it (the pee)spread. You might be smelling the odor not from the original spot...but from runoff.

we had better luck while box training bootsie with a cheep product from wal mart called kid and petts stain remover, soaked the spots and they wiped away with no lasting odor, also worked well cleaning years of left over construction stains from the carpet of a truck i sold in december.

The answer is simple and cheap: vinegar! :thumbsup2

Before our 15 year old poodle died; she became incontinent. She peed on my mom's huge wool braided rug. That rug s-t-a-n-k. A couple of weeks ago my mom took the rug outside, and doused it in gallons of vinegar. She let it sit for an hour or so. Then she rinsed with clear water and let it dry in the sun.

I was laying on the rug today, and absolutely no scent. No urine stench, and no scent of vinegar.

This is a old-fashioned remedy from the days when all of us were cloth-diapered. ;)

I read that your cushions are attached. I am not sure how to best go about cleaning with vinegar with the cushions attached. Do you have a wet dry vac? Maybe you could douse it, let it sit, then suck it up.

There are two new items out you may want to try. I havent tried it yet but have seen it on TV commercials. Its called urine gone and they were selling it at target for 19.99. It claims it would get rid of the smell and stain. Also zero gone claims the same. If you happen to try please post and let us know how it works. I have 2 dogs and I am waiting for one to mess up so I could try this.
