Help - do I trust the Crowd Calendar?

We're heading to California on our honeymoon in August. We were originally going to visit DL from 08/20/12 to 08/24/12 but was advised this was a bad idea as the AP blackout ends on the 19th August and the parks will be busy from 20th. We decided that we would visit the parks 08/17/12 - 08/20/12 to try and avoid the crowds.
I've just looked at the crowd calendar on the touring plans website and it says that the crowds are predicted to be quieter from the 20th August - help! I don't know whether to change my hotel bookings back to the original dates. I'm confused!

I'm assuming you are looking at Touring Plans. They really don't have a clue about crowd patterns in Disneyland yet. For example they said that spring break was over a full week before Easter this year and predicted low crowds for the week before and after Easter (aka the PEAK crowd weeks of Spring Break).

TP is still very imperfect for DLR. I assure you made the right choice and at worst your choice was neutral. The week before Aug 20 will not be worse than the week of Aug 20.

For the record, I loved TP's Lines app for the iPhone. I just do not know what to make of their park crowd predictions as they are off so often.
