HELP! Disney Cruise Main/Late Dining question

We always do late dining....we live in the central time zone, so 5:45 is 4:45 for us and we feel that is too early. I did start out with main dining when I booked our Alaskan cruise almost 14 months prior to sail, because we were going to be going opposite direction time-zone wise. But that summer (a month and a half after I booked) we went to Hawaii for a week and a half and I saw how easily we adjusted to the big time difference (going in---coming back was a completely different story....staying up til 3am and sleeping until 1:00pm the first several days...thank goodness I'm a teacher and had all summer to adjust back!). We switched to 2nd seating after coming back from Hawaii because a couple ports had late arrival/ "all aboard" times and we wanted to have that time off the ship to make the most of our vacation and not be rushed back for early dinner. You will not be the only familly with kids at 2nd seating by a long shot. I promise. We've always been seated with another family with a child cloes to ours in age, and there were several other families with children at 2nd seating as well.
