I'm surprising DH with a trip to WDW for his birthday, and we're leaving TODAY! Of course, I'm good last minute, but I'm not sure I can find what I need between now and 3 pm on my own, and I'm asking for help.

Laying in bed at 5:45 this morning, it came to me. His favorite character is Donald Duck and while I've managed a couple of small Donald things, I'd love to make a "duck hunt" for him, places to see Donald, hidden Donalds, anything you can think of.

I know about Donald as part of the 3 Caballeros in Mexico, but that's about it. Can you help?!

Hi,

Donald can usually be found at the breakfasts at Cape May Cafe and Tusker House.

Good luck finding him, and enjoy your trip!

There's a hidden Donald in the stitching of the back of one of the chairs in I think the Haunted Mansion. It may be ToT, I'm not sure. I'll try to find out and update the post.

This is the Haunted Mansion. Stitching on one of two high-back chairs you directly turn and face toward the beginning of the ride.

Donald can usually be found in Animal Kingdom at Camp Minnie Mickey.

According to Steven M. Barrett, author of "Hidden Mickeys", there's another one:

STEVE: Yes, other hidden characters are scattered around Walt Disney World. Some of the ones mentioned below are recently new to me and will be posted on the www.theotherorlando.com website. In The Great Movie Ride at Disney-MGM Studios, Donald Duck is facing Mickey Mouse in the "Raiders of the Lost Ark" segment (on the left wall near the end of the room). Some people claim they can see the outline of Donald's head on the back of a chair (near the endless mirrors) in the Haunted Mansion ride, but it's a bit too abstract for me.

I've seen pictures of the heiroglyphics (sp?) and you can clearly make out Disney characters in some of them. I've also seen a picture of the chair and to me, it clearly looks like a face-on image of Donald. Don't have time to search out the pic's right now, but you can look for them while you're there. You can also try the site listed in the quote above.

Have fun!

When we were there in September Frontier Donald was out kind of near end of Frontier Land and the beginning of Liberty square. This is what he looks like

I actually have the Hidden Mickeys book somewhere in the house, and of course can't find it now that I need it. Thanks so much!

What a sweet picture! I'm planning to get as many pictures of him with DD as possible, in as many outfits as he has! This will be a great addition!

Don't forget to see Mickey's Philhar-magic -- Donald plays an important role!

If you could call and see if you can possibly get an ADR for Tusker House in the morning, that's a great breakfast! It's also special because Daisy is there and she's one of the harder-to-find characters.

well, she used to be anyway.. she's actually quite easy to find (and has been for a couple of years) if you know where to look.

Well Cornelius Coot, the founder of Mickey's Toontown Fair, is also Donald's great-great-grandfather, so you can go check out the statue and impress your DH with your amazing Duck knowledge (assuming he didn't know that already). And there's Donald's Boat at Toontown as well. :donald:

Donald used to be part of breakfast at Restaurantasaurus in Animal Kingdom. Not sure if that's still the case?

Donald's Safari Breakfast was moved from the Restaurantasaurus to Tusker House after Tusker House was remodeled into a TS restaurant.

Thanks for the update re:Restaurantasaurus. That makes sense that they wouldn't have two character breakfasts featuring Donald so close together.

I think that I may a tiny bit irrationally sad at Tuskey House becoming TS - it was a mainstay "drop in an eat" CS for us in the past.

ROFL... took me a minute to fogure out why the heck you had posted that pic. :lmao:

Donald appears in Epcot just to the side of the Mexico pyramid. He's wearing a sombrero! It makes an adorable picture.

I loved that game! Now on to hunting a duck that's bigger than me... :D

Thanks everyone, I'm amassing some good stuff here! :donald:
