Help DF is confusing me as to what time we should book our ceremony for!

Hello everyone

Yes it's me again, the b2b with way too much time on her hands as stressing over things that cant be booked yet but in my opinion, you can never be too organised

My DF and i took a trip into London today... went to Harrods and whilst having a very expensive drink within their pub we started chatting about the wedding plans (DF doesnt do this too often at this early stage so i jumped on the chat whilst i could )

We (well me but it's the same thing isnt it? ) had decided that our ceremony at WP was to be at 2:30pm. I figured as we would be booking the 6 hour photo package with disney that they would prob want to spend a couple of hours taking pictures after the ceremony so that we would get to our reception venue (UK in epcot) for around 5:30pm - 6pm, have our reception meal and then start our DP at 8:30pm in time for illuminations.

DF doesnt think photographer will take this long so he was thinking that we would have a 5pm ceremony followed by an hour of pics so that we'd get to epcot for reception at 7pm and have DP at 8:30pm and then watch illuminations etc.

Well now i am confused as with a 6 hour package surely they will want to spend more time with us than an hour after the ceremony wont they?

I know they'll take pics prior to the ceremony (my DF was like "well that will be exciting for them, taking pics of me having a pint at the bar" ) how exactly will this 6 hour timeframe take place?

I need your wisdom as to what would be a better time slot for us.

Also will Disney be flexible on time... we had both said today that a 4pm ceremony would prob be alot better but that time isnt on the website listing, however neither is 7:30pm and ive seen that some brides have got married at that time so is it a possibility?

i think once you start looking into options it will fall into place, i would imagine you may look at using and outside photographer cos disnye packages are very expensive and you can easily meet the min spend, we only have 18 guests and we are over the 10k min spend and we have misty miotto as our photogrpaher.

If you have a ceremony after 2pm the min goes up per person and we are spending 87 pp on food and then cake and dessert party. We then have the carriage at the moment and the pavillion which alone is 2500 to have the ceremony there. Then you add on transport and floral and your looking at the min spend already.

All i would say is dont stick to disney photo just to reach your min spend etc cos i think you can easily meet it without using them, and you will get more for you money, we are spending 887 for 6 hours.

I see what you are saying, i have done my wishbook without the photogrpaher but we dont meet the minimum, although i know the wishbook doesnt include everything and there isnt much choice for floral on the wishbook so apart from bouquets i havent selected anything in that area so i think you're right and we could poss meet the min without it, once i start dealing with disney for real.

Either way, do you know how long a photographer would usually spend with you after the ceremony?

misty is getting to us for 1pm and will leave us at 6pm in our beo its got we will have photos till 4pm so only really half hour after our ceremony which i dont think is long enough as we are not seeing each other beofre the ceremony.

Its all very well timed and we have a time for everything so its very organised and everything is timed to the second as such

when we played with the wishbook we were about 2k under the min but that soon changed! the wishbook is quite out of date with reagrds to prices. so thats quite off putting really. we are having silk floral and my bouquet is costing 300 and df flower is 30 i think and i'm having the wands and they are 30 eaach

yes i like the idea of the wands for my younger bm's as they'll be 9 years old but i thought maybe a bouquet for my big sis who is my MOH as she will be 31... ooh the decisions

although i do think they are great for older bm's and moh's it's just i think i would want my big sis to have something different from my DF's nieces.

To answer your question on ceremony times, no, they aren't felxible. They need to stick to those times to accomodate as many brides as possible each day. The disney photogs do about an hour of pictures prior to the ceremony, and then about 4 hours worth after, including reception pictures. I originally wanted a timeline like you suggested, but my planner talked me into a 5pm ceremony, reception starting at 7 and going to 11 at French Island in EPCOT. If you're doing wishes, you can do your reception and Dessert Party as one event, so you don't need to worry about what time the DP portion starts.

so for a 5pm ceremony, what time do you have to start your hair and make up?
