We are members of DVC and have a room reserved in December. We are also passholders. I called today to find out about adding the DDP onto our reservation. The girl told me we would have to buy a park ticket. I told her we already have annual passes but she said we had to.

I am very confused why we would have to pay more money to buy a park ticket just to get the DDP:confused3

If you are staying in a DVC resort using points, you can call MS and request the DDP added to your room without having to purchase tickets.

If you are staying at any other disney resort the DDP can only be purchased through a MYW package. It makes no difference whether you are passholders. You must have a package to add the DDP.

Disney created the DDP to be part of the MYW packages. Until recently DVC members could not purchase the DDP for their stays.

Thank you! We are staying at Saratoga. Dumb question...
What is MS?

Okay, you did - but in case anyone else reads this and wonders... MS = Disney Vacation Club Member Services :)

Just curious, who told you that you had to purchase tickets? CRO or MS?

I called DVC and pressed the #3 to make restaurant reservations. I spoke to some snotty girl that answered my call and asked about adding the dining plan to my reservation. She told me that that I had to buy a one day ticket for everyone in my party. I told her I thought that was crazy since we are pass holders and DVC members she said to me "Most people understand and are happy to have a ticket that never expires" After reading this board I called MS spoke to a much nicer girl she was very helpful and added the plan to our reservation.
