:worried: My DD5 just told me she wants VSmile with the Little Mermaid cartridge! Are these anywhere to be found at this late date? Also, are there more Disney titles available?
She will be getting a leapster with D Princess game. This is already purchased. Are the Vsmile and Leapster different enough to get both, or not? Any opinions are welcome! TIA

I just saw these at Linen N Things. If I didn't have enough for my son I would get it.

I have seen them all over. Try the Toysrus site. Also JCPenney's.com have them. Good luck :D

I believe it's on sale at Target this week. Wanted to get it for my 5 year old DD but I already have enough things for her. Staying strong! LOL

I've heard pretty good things about the VSmile- I havent used it myself but it looks pretty good.

I dont think they are *that* different from each other educational wise so I dont know the value in getting both of them (esp with leapsters newer disney titles)

We are sold outta both of them (Leapster we didnt order near enough.. VSmile we just ran out this weekend) but they both look like we will carry them through past christmas

The only place I have found it still in stock is http://www.fingerhut.com

Notice they are charging a lot more than anyone else! I tried to contact them to see if they would match other internet prices, but was on hold forever, and finally gave up.

Good luck!

The Walmart in our town still has a bunch of these left, as well as the cartridges. My sons are getting VSmile for Xmas.
Good luck!

Our Target still has them and they are on sale. I think they look nicer than the Leapster which we haven't been that impressed with.

Thanks Everybody! I think we're going to stick with the leapster though, and maybe buy a ps2 little mermaid game, because that's why she wanted the vsmile, for LM. That way we will have one less thing hooked up to the tv. Thanks so much! :D

PS anyone know of a LM game for ps2 or ps? Ive seen them but not recently :confused3

My 4 yo DS has both the Leapster and the V-Smile and LOVES them both! We had bought the Leapster for him to play with in the car on our way to Orlando in April/May. He got the V-Smile from his Godparents for his birthday in June. We use them in totally different ways. He plays the Leapster every day for at least an hour or so. That's what he does for "quiet time" while his little brother takes a nap. He has several things he can chose from to do for quiet activities but he ALWAYS choses the Leapster. He also gets to play it for 20 minutes at bed time. He plays it in the car and occasionally gets to bring it if we are going out to eat (not every time as he must learn table manners WITHOUT a toy but we do give in occasionally!). He plays the v-smile during play time. we have the 2nd joystick as well. His 2½ year old brother LOVES to play with it too even though he's not all that great at it yet...too advanced for him. Brandon loves having the 2nd joystick to play with a friend when he has a playdate. His father or I will play with him on it too. It's more "family fun" where as the Leapster is individual. The games are very different too. He really does enjoy them both. :)

We didn't set out intending for him to have both, my cousins who are his Godparents saw it on display at Toys R Us and thought he would love the V-Smile. They weren't even aware he had the Leapster. I had never even heard of the V-Smile when he got it, now I have several friends still shopping for one for their kids. We have both the Lion King and the Ariel game for it and he'll be getting the Disney World one for Christmas. :)

I have the Little Mermaid game and the V Smile I just bought last month. I can check the area around here for the game if you want me to. I know my store here has the V Smile game machine in stock---I just looked yesterday, and there was a big end counter display. Just let me know if I can help.

Thanks so much to both of you!! This is my first experience being involved in a forum, and I must say that everyone is making this an enjoyable experience with all of your kindness!
Now, as far as the v smile, I did find it and all of the games at Imaginarium, associated with Toys R US. I would like for her to have it, but I'm not sure I'm willing to shell out the cash since we already bought the leapster and several games for it, as well as LOTS of other toys for her and her brother (20mon).

Lollipop Mom:
When you say DW one, do you mean the Mickey one, or is there one I'm not aware of? this might make my mind up for me, because if there is a dw one we'll have to have it. ;)

To be honest, I'm not sure. My mother told me she got him the "disney world game." I would bet it's the Mickey one though. He has Care Bears, Lion King and Little Mermaid. I bought him Spiderman and Mom got him whatever disney one that is. I figured that was enough for now for the V-Smile so I haven't really looked at that stuff since.

The only negative I have about the v-smile is that it doesn't come with a power cord included. There is no reason a toy like that should be battery only!

Thanks! I bet it is the Mickey one.

I decided to leave this decision up to my husband. He likes to get a "daddy gift" for each of the kids, which are pretty expensive usually (power wheels, etc). He always waits until Christmas Eve, but this year he has gone shopping today, and he has called and told me he bought this for DD along with some games. My question is, do we need to buy the power cord, or will the batteries be sufficient? I would think it would eat up batteries like crazy, but I'm sure that someone knows for sure.
Also, does Toys r Us price match? We were told 2 different things by employees. The first told me that they don't during Christmas. The second told my husband that they do, but you must bring in the complete ad with date on it. I know that last week Target had these on sale, and I think that Wal-Mart does this week, but I don't have the ad. If anyone can help me out today with any answers I'd be more than greatful!! ::yes::

Just bumping this in the hope that someone can give me an answer before Christmas. Thanks!

Toys R Us will price match but you have to bring the circular with the front pg showing the date. I was just there today and they had the game and several cartridges in stock. don't know about the power cord, I bought it for my daughter's for Christmas and I don't know if it came with it or if I have to buy it or what. Never occured to me that it didn't. I did buy the 2nd controller to cut down on fights.

My son has had a v-smile for a while. He got it when it first came out as a birthday gift from his godparents. It does not come with a power cord. It runs on 4 size C batteries and it starts acting up when they even start to get low. Drove me nuts!!!! That is my only complaint about this toy. There is NO reason for it to not come with a power cord. I should not have to spend another $10-$15 to buy one! I appreciate that it runs on batteries so if we wanted to we could bring it in the car for long trips and use it on the TV in the van but we likely won't do that. The power cord should be included though! I was upset enough to write V-tech about it.

oh yeah, on price matching. At least at our Toys R Us you have to bring in the ad and they do call to verify that the store closest to them has it in stock right then. If that store are out of stock they won't match.

Thanks for the info! Have a great trip and Merry Christmas! Say hello to Mickey for me! We miss him!
