Help DD wants a Game boy?!

I just got DD a new game for Christmas it's Dogz, similar to nintendogs...fyi! It looks very cute.
I have been reading about the nintendo dogs, what in the world is it, a game? Would you be able to play it on the new advance? Thanks! I was figuring she would be 7 before I had to battle this technology!

You could get an advance GB for pretty cheap and they are more durable in my opinion. The SPs are more easily broken. The Disney Princess game is fun and my DD loved it at 6. She never asked for help, but she started reading at 4 so by the time she got the GB she could read quite well. The SP is easier to see for me.....DD never complained!

nintendogs is a game for the new game boy dual screen - or is it called nintendo ds? I don't remember... :earboy2: anyway you play and adopt a puppy and raise it and train it and teach it tricks and you can take it to shows, a virtual pet. You can choose your breed and everything. The new Dogz game is for GBA and looks pretty much the same except you don't choose your breed. DD is a dog NUT (the way many 2nd grade girls are about horses) so I got one. It's basically a petcare simulation.

Hope that helps!

My just 5-yo ds has been playing my ancient (first edition, lol) game boy for about a year. I only have 2 games for it, Tetris and some kind of Mario Brothers game. He plays both of them just fine for his age, doesn't usually make it far, but he does it on his own and doesn't want help.

He has a V-Smile at MIL's house, we got him the pocket Vsmile for Christmas this year. It's for kids his age and he likes the regular one, so....

My oldest DS got a GBA sp when he was 4 and our twin boys also got them when they were 4. They love them, play them all the time, and have never had difficulty because it asks them to read. I read it once and they never ask again. We have always bought them used at Game Stop, but I think the brand new ones are about the same price right now. My boys are reckless and so far, we have not had one break. (Knock on wood!) THis year they are asking for a Game Cube. They are going to get it. The neat thing is with a Game Cube is that we bought an adaptor so that all of their GB games can be used with the system. I feel good knowing that all the games we have bought over the years will still be used.

My 4.5 y/o son also wanted a Game Boy. I think he saw someone at daycare with it and thought it would be neat to have – otherwise, I don’t even know how he knew what a Game Boy was. He’s getting a Leapster instead. I don’t mind him playing video games – but I would prefer they be teaching him something at the same time. I think he’ll be just as happy with the Leapster as he would have been with a Game Boy. Heck, one day while I was home on vacation I decided to try it out to make sure it worked before Christmas (you know how it goes) – I played with it for 3 hours.

We have Dragon Tales and it is very good for littler kids. At the beginning you choose easy, medium or hard. The easy would be fine for a 4-5 year old then they could work their way up.
