Help??? DD sick and checking in tomorrow with developer points...

Hi,
I really could use some of your expert advice which I read often on these boards... Tomorrow 4/7 we are suppossed to be checking in for three nights at the GCH with developer points. My DD12 started running a fever this evening, she had Mono two months ago she seemed better but took a turn for the worse and I do not want to push her. Can I call and cancel tomorrow but still check in on 4/8 w/o losing the points for 4/7? Better yet could I cancel all three nights and re-book for another date? Thanks so much....

You need to call the resort front desk -- not MS -- as soon as you can this morning.

The technical answer to your question is you could have saved one nights points by calling yesterday. Those points would have gone into holding account.

Since today is your checkin date, all points will be used today whether you check in or not. Normally if you failed to check in, they would forfeit all of the points for that reservation AND cancel the reservation.

Call the resort, explain the situation, and tell them you are still coming but will be arriving one day late. They should hold the rest of the ressie for you and you'll only lose one day's points.

No, sorry.

You could have done that yesterday, but not today. If you had canceled yesterday, all of the points would have gone into holding account...which means you can use them only for ressies 60 days out.

But on the scheduled checkin date, which is today, you can't cancel.
