HELP!-Cypress Pointe Resort & Grand Villas ?

lorilori...Did you book CP through alpharooms also? It really doesn't sound like I'll have a preference for CP vs CPGV...but my DD (12) and little sis might if there is one pool that is better then the other? We will be checking in 6/7th for 9 days. Hopefully we can beat SOME of the heat...not very likely though.

That's great to hear that they are so accomodating at check in. I have heard great reviews about this place but not such great reports on the friendliness of the staff...hopefully that won't be our experience. I will say I've had GREAT service from Kito in reservations. He just called me back again to make sure everything was ok since he hadn't gotten my fax yet. I explained to him the response I got from alpharooms and he did admit he hasn't dealt with them in the past but would be happy to help us out any way he can. I'm still not feeling totally at ease but I doubt I will until I get there and actually check in. Just the way I am.

Just to let you know.....I booked with hotelkingdom.com and was told the same thing that alpharooms is telling you. The hotel won't have my reservations until a day or so before checking in. We are going during Easter Break (April 8th-14th) and we reserved a 2BR w/full kitchen and it has a W/D in unit....it says it is around 1300SF which is just 300SF smaller than my whole house!! I hope that's true since there are 7 of us (2 adults and a 12, 9, 8, 7 & 1 year old!!)

gweny70 - my kids really did like both pools but only the pool at CP has a slide. The other two pools, both at CPGV felt a little warmer heated which won't matter for your timeframe! but again, the complex is quite small and it was very easy to walk between both sides and all three pools. also, before i used alpharooms, i did book with hotelkingdom and it was as ILuvTinkerbell1974 just posted - the hotel only has the 'booking' but not your name until maybe two days before your arrival.

I suppose its like any hotel booking, the agent only confirms actual names etc a few days before you are due to arrive, this happenend last year on our holiday to Egypt the travel company only confirmed our names about 4-5 days before we got there.

Hopefully, we are worrying for nothing. When we are there having a fab holiday we will be able to think about all the lovely $`s we have saved using Alpharooms. (thats how I`m trying to think of it anyway)

Thanks lorilori and Iluvtinkerbell for the info. I feel so much better knowing that hotelkingdom does the same thing when you book....as I know a lot of folks swear by hotelkingdom. I also resarched on tripadvisor and there wasn't a ton of comments about alpharooms but the comments that I did find were positive. I'm thinking that if people had bad experiences with them I would have ran across them right? (fingers crossed) I guess I'm just new to booking with someone other then the hotel directly....and with all the internet scams you can never be too careful. Besides this is our precious Disney World vacation that we are talking about!!

2minnies...Thanks so much for the link! Everyone seems to say great things about both CPR & the CPGV....so I will be happy to just be there!! You are so right...we should all be there NOW!! Especially with the EXTREME colds your area is facing...I can't imagine. I'm having hard enough time dealing with -5 and -15 below windchill. KEEP WARM and think WARM DISNEY THOUGHTS!! April will be here before ya know it!!

Katiesdad...We are leaving 6/7th & staying 9 nights at CPR & GV. We were going to stay 7 nights but at such a great rate decided to extend our stay little. I'm sure your family will have a wonderful time in August!! Fingers crossed for smooth sailing for all of us!

I will be checking in at CP Grand Villas also on 6/7 for four nights. I've never stayed here before but all the reviews I read here and elsewhere sound great. I only wish it wasn't four months away. We booked through Hotelkingdom. I also see you live in PA also. What part of the state do you live in?

disnyfan4ever...I am from Harrisburg area. So not very far from you. Womelsdorf is in Reading area right? Wow..we are from same area and going to Disney at the same time and staying at the same resort?!?! What are the chances?!?! Imagine that! I can't wait for it to get here- I have a feeling the time will fly by!!

Yes, I am near the Reading area. I actually work in Harrisburg for the state. I guess it is a small world after all!! After our four nights at CPGV (spending four days between Sea World and Universal) we are moving over to POFQ for the disney part of our trip.

You work in Harrisburg for the state?!?! You are so right! It definitely is a small world!! I don't work for the state...if I did I'd have dropped over probably. LOL. But I do work for Capital BlueCross in Harrisburg. And I used to know quite a few folks in Reading area when I was just a lad. Some are still there but a few have moved out of the area.

We will be at CPR or CPGV ( not sure which one yet) as of 6/7th and staying 9 nights and then staying with some family for the next 7 nights. I really wanted to stay at a Disney hotel but we are opting to have a longer vacation at an offset hotel vs a shorter one at a Disney hotel won out. And now that we are taking my younger (teenage) sis with us (along with my DD of course) having the 2 bdroom w/2bathrooms will give us more privacy which my DH was insistent on. Plus we are hoping to save some $$ being able to make meals,etc. My hopes are to come back for a shorter visit in the next year and stay on property. But for now off property it is!! At this point I'm just happy we are going at all!! You will have to let me know how you like POFQ!! Although I have no doubt you will LUV IT!!

We are returning to Cypress Pointe this April also!! We love it there!! Lots of room, very clean and so close the Down Town Disney!!

Now if the time would just move a little quicker !!
