Help....Could not get BWV 10 months out.

I always call 11 months out to make sure I get a boardwalk view. I already have 2 trips planned this year, one in May to Disney and then in the fall with friends to Marco Island. I thought that would be it for trips this year. Well today I asked DH if we could do a short 5 night trip after Thanksgiving to see all the Christmas decorations and we have points to use. I really think he forgot about the Marco Island trip. So I called this morning for Monday Nov. 26th for 5 nights. I could only get the boardwalk view for the 27th and 28th the rest is pool/garden view so I waitlisted those 3 nights. I then asked about a cash reservation and that is not available. So what do you think my chances are for the waitlist to come through? I know it is a busy time for DVC but I am shocked that I could not even get a cash reservation this far out. I really really love the boardwalk view.

I believe someone here has mentioned that they do not offer BW view rooms at BWV for cash.

Have not gone at that time, but I know how you feel. I tried to book at SV studio at BLT for Dec 3rd - Dec 5th only 5 days out and couldn't get it.

WOW... Thanks for checking !!! I think they told me that I have 91 points left in my 2012 use year. I will call MS tomorrow morning.

Can I do that with my existing reservation? I do not have enough points to do it as a new reservation and then cancel my old one. Do I have to cancel first and then go in and book the new one?

Yes, it appears you do have to cancel first, which you can also do online... but i can understand that might not feel so good when the new one isn't booked yet. I've got to think that at 10 months out, at night on a Sunday, you should be fine, but here is some serious pixie dust!

I was able to cancel my 3 different reservations with the garden view/bw view and then I rebooked a 1 bedroom BW view. I really did not want to use the extra points but having the BW view was important and I rather not waitlist and hope for the waitlist to open on 3 of the 5 nights.
YIPPEE I am so excited now !!!!!

Now that you have the 1 BR, you could WL a Studio BWV view. If the WL doesn't come through by your deadline to bank your points, you should cancel the WL and enjoy the extra room in the 1BR! -Suzanne

Boardwalk here we come !!!!!

Now that you have your 1BR BW view, you could go back and WL the entire ressie for Studio BW view if you wanted to save the points. You could set it at T-31days WL.

Your only problem now is that once you stay in a one bedroom you will not want to go back to a studio
