We have a 5night 6day trip planned in Nov. staying at the contemporary with my DS4 and DD7. My husband is convinced that 6 days at the parks is too much. Can you believe it?!?!?!

We plan to do one day at Epcot and DHS with the other days spent at MK. Of course the first and last days won't be full days because we won't arrive until mid-late morning, and our return flight is at 7pm, so we'll have to leave early to have dinner and head to the airport.

What are some other activities that you love that I could use as "bait" to convince him that we don't need to cut it short.

Will you be there for Food and Wine? Use that as a selling point.

Ok here's what I'd say to convince him you need 6 days. here are some points off the top of my head.
1st and last day are not full days. The parks are so large you don't want to tucker your kids out. Having the luxury to go back to the resort during the day is fantastic, because you aren't stretched for time. You can go do the different parades and fireworks shows, sometimes they are only shown on certain days, like fantasmic. You also have time to enjoy your resort because you aren't hitting the parks as hard. You can spend an afternoon at the pool! It will actually be a vacation!

For my husband 7 park days was too many, the answer to our problem was he took our youngest and oldest back to the room for some pool and quiet time. It worked out great. At first I was bummed at us not always being together but I got a great girls day with my girls and hubby had a nice relaxing hotel day. So maybe it is too much for your hubby and if you don't mind him staying behind you and the kids can enjoy the day. My oldest opted out of a park day because I told them I was not going to put up with any attitude or bickering and he felt he could not make it all day without giving me lip or fighting with his sisters :lmao: . He still had a great day with his dad.

You didn't mention anything about AK. I am guessing your kids would love that park, especially the trail with the tigers, the Flights of Wonder bird show, and the safari ride. I would do that park early am, and leave after lunch when it gets hot, so not a full day there.

WHAT !!??? No Animal Kingdom ?? My kids love that place. You should do that the day you leave. After buying 4-5 days of MYW tickets, and extra day or two only costs 3-4 dollars a person. :woohoo: We are going for 7 days in October and feel like we don't have enough time. You hubby needs a shot of pixie dust STAT !!! :scared1:

One day at Epcot, one day at HS, and 4 days at MK? I'm with him. 4 days at MK would kill me. What happened to AK? That being said, it's only fair to mention that MK is my least favorite of the 4, and AK is my favorite.:love:Why would you skip it?

...seems to me that you are the one in the best position :blush:to convince him an extra night is necessary...just sayin':rolleyes1:

I was under the impression that it was only a half-day park essentially and didn't want to waste a whole day's ticket. I thought it was essentially like a nice zoo. I guess I have to investigate that a little more.
THANKS!!!

And yes...pixie dust needed!!

4 days in MK is too much...on a 6 day, I'd do 2 full days at MK and 2 full days at Epcot. One day at DHS and one day at Animal Kingdom. If one of your "6 days" is a partial day, use that one for AK...editted -- go to AK on your first partial day, and DHS on your final day. Then alternate MK & Epcot for the full days.

And if you will be getting to the parks at rope drop, plan on going back to your resort for pool/nap breaks every afternoon...spending 3-4 hours in parks, then 3 hour break at hotel & back to park in the evening works very well for us. Course, if the parks are closing early, you'll have to time your days differently.

No idea where the AK is a half day park comes from. We loved it.

We went for 2 days with our DD who was almost 4 and didn't do it all.

Lion king show, nemo show, safari, parade, boneyard that's half a day not including any rides.

Please don't skip it, your kids will love it!

I agree. You MUST do AK. 4 days at MK is too much. There is A LOT to do at AK. It's a great park. And we LOVE the water parks. They are AMAZING. Worth a look if you need a break from the parks :)

.

Don't worry once your there he'll see you'll need the 6 days.
Might even says you could have used more.

I don't think 4 days at MK is too many for kids that age.
Gives you time to take your time to enjoy things without racing.
Plus time to go back to your favorites repeatedly.
Throw in autographs? You could use that time.

I know you didn't mention going though i'd share, we find it easier to get Mickey's autograph at Camp Minnie Mickey in AK. Usually a much shorter line.
As well as easy to get Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Lilo and Stich, Pooh characters and many others there.
So 1 day at AK is easy to fill there too for kids that age.

So you could do AK, EPCOT, HS and 3 day MK if you so choose.

YOu know what you tell him???

DH, is there really a time limit to have family time??? that's whats Disney's all about? jsut being together!! there shouldn't be an issue of too many days! just silly!! well i hope you can let him read all the things there is to do! ive been there million times and STILL havnt see it all.. and i never will!! Disney is Constantly adding on!! have a magical trip!! enjoy the CR!!!!

Extra days will allow you to tour at a more relaxed pace. You'll have more opportunity to spend time at the CR pool and utilize the resort while still seeing everything you want to see.

wow, we go for 7-14 days at a time and somehow it never feels like enough. It will definitely take you a week to do everything in all four parks, plus you always have Downtown Disney and the water parks if needed. Everything is about the experience, though. It may be tough with young children bc of the heat and food situations, but when everything runs well Disney is a magical place :smickey:
