First it was Contemporary vs CSR!
we decided with FTP we couldn't pass up the savings to go with a deluxe!
Now, DH still isn't sold on CR!
So we are thinking maybe BWI or BWV?????
So for an extra $290 we can have BWI standard ....or
For an extra $762 we can have BWV one bedroom ! yikes...that might be too much....but it is being considered because of the full kitchen.
(There were no standard rooms available at BWV...just the one bed)

Okay, give me pros and cons both sides......
I like the idea of walking to MK since we will be doing MNSSHP and MK is my favorite. Also, the monorail to Epcot! We are going the week the grand opening of M:S.
So even though we can walk to Epcot from BWI....we are at the back of the park! So it ends up a long walk....
I like the "look" of BWI better....but being able to see MK by just stepping outside!!!

AAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!
See what I mean!!!

Thanks for any input!!!

Hi cindyfan-
We have our 1st CR trip planned for October, but we stayed in a 1-bdrm at BWV in April 2002 and loved it. We have two small kids, so for us, they both have advantages.

The BW area is great with lots to do. We walked to Epcot and did a WS restaurant and Illuminations nearly every night. The 1-bdrm was so nice. I loved having so much space and the kitchen was nice. We thought it would save us some money, but we ended up eating out a lot anyway, so I'm not sure we really saved anything. We ate breakfast in our room most days but probably could have done the same without a kitchen.

We are going with the CR this time because we spend so much time at MK and its a hassle to load the strollers on the bus to get there. I'm sure we'll miss the space, but hopefully the walk will be worth it.

Good Luck!

We were just at the CR a month ago, and it's the best! If you like the MK and will be doing the MNSSHP, you can't beat it. The convenience is second to none.

The Boardwalk area is great, but we have a young child, and by the time it was evening we had a tuckered out kid. We wouldn't have been able to take advatage of it.

I've never stayed at BWI or BWV so I can't comment on them. However, I have stayed at the Contemporary several times and have loved it every time!

The Contemporary is my favorite resort. We have stayed in the tower and it's been MK view every time. The view is breathtaking! The rooms are large, clean and bright. We never heard any noise from the concourse level while we were in our room. But, it is fun to hear the monorail zipping by and the singing from Chef Mickey's when you open your door!

Being able to walk to the Magic Kingdom is worth every penny to us. It's only a ten minute walk and it's quiet and not crowded at all on the walkway. It's great to be able to walk over to the park and avoid the monorail stops at the TTC, Polynesian and Grand Floridian. It's also a perk to be able to walk back to your room after parades and fireworks and avoid the crowds at the monorail station.

There are 2 pools. The main pool is very fun. It has a slide and water fountains in the pool and "shooting water" around the pool. My 2 year old daughter loved it! She also liked the playground and feeding the ducks on the dock. We also love being able to take the boat to Ft. Wilderness beause we like to eat at Trails End and they have a playground and a petting zoo.

The restaurants are great, there is a huge arcade and the stores on the 4th floor are fun to shop in. My family really loves the breakfast at the Concourse Steakhouse and the dinner was pretty good too. We stayed at the Grand Floridian in September which was nice, but we really missed the Contemporary! We went back to the Contemporary last month and it was great.

I just stayed at the CR and while I enjoyed my stay I missed the feeling of 2 vacations in 1 that I got with the other deluxes and at the POR. At the CR I felt like I was in all the action 24/7 which was nice but I like my resort to have a more relaxed feel to it.

The pool at the CR was fun but it lacked the theme that some of the others have and it is rather out in the middle of it all too. I also missed the zero entry that some of the other deluxes have with little ones because they can play in the shallow end; the CR has a traditional pool with steps. The CR didn't have a kiddie pool which my little one missed a lot but they had jumping fountains which where fun and fountains that in the main pool as well.

The rooms are really funky and loud which was fun but once again a little too much for me. The restaurant selection was great but then it's also great at the Boardwalk area too.

We did enjoy the walk to the MK which was a lot faster then taking the monorail most of times because of all the stops it made on the way there.

Given the choice I probably won't return to the CR again but I'm not sorry that we gave it a try.

We've always wanted to stay at the BWI but haven't yet but we have good friends that swear by it.

I haven't had any experiences with the Boardwalk, but I can offer lots of insight for the Contemporary - it's my favorite! We've stayed there a couple of times in the past few years and it was just wonderful. The convenience of everything (i.e. the monorail, the walkway to the MK, all the restaurants...) was like no other resort. The downfalls of the Contemporary (the "tacky" decor, the lack of a real theme) are present, of course, but the good things about it far outweigh the bad. My friends and I are planning a trip to WDW in a little while and the Contemporary is presently at the top of our list.
Anyway, good luck with choosing a place to stay! Anything on Disney property will give you a great experience :)
