Help! Confused over borrowing

Hello all! I thought I understood banking/borrowing, but apparently I do not. I have 160 points with an August use year. I am using the points as follows:

October 2013 - I have currently reserved a THV and an SSR studio for a total of 230 points - 89 points from my 2013 UY points and 141 from my 2014 UY...I still have available 25 points in UY 2013 and 19 points in UY 2014 (I don't know why it has me borrowing from 2014 before my 2013 pts are used up but I think its a nonissue)

I wanted to travel to DL in May of 2014, and I will need 80 points. I currently have the 25+19 available - will I be able to borrow from 2015 points in 2014 for the remainder of the 36 points?? I thought I would but now I'm . Or would I have to wait until after August 1, 2014 to use my 2015 points? Any help would be much appreciated. We may decide to switch to a value and pay OOP for the 4 studio nights of our trip in order to get the GC when we go in May 2014.

Which brings me to my next question - how easy is it to get a studio at GCV in May at 7 months?

First, a May 2014 trip falls in your 2013 UY and therefore, you can only borrow from you 2014 UY to cover that trip. I would call MS in terms of having points in 2013 UY. Did you bank points from your 2012 UY after you made your October 2013 trip? If so, that could explain why you were allowed to borrow points but are showing something still. It would be the banked points.

We got one at 7 months in May of this year for a couple of nights after the West bound Panama Canal Cruise. I watched availability for the days leading up to the days I needed and was online right at 8:00 AM EST on the day and was able to get what I needed. There was pretty good availability except for Grand Villas. This was for the third full week of May.

If you are prepared with a backup plan, you probably will be able to find something. We were prepared to move up to a one-bedroom if the studio wasn't available and also prepared to just book a hotel room with points if there was no one-bedroom or studio available.

Thanks! We were planning on the last Sunday of April through the first Thursday in May...the crowds are 1s and 2s that week so I'm hoping it won't be too bad!
