We're hoping to travel in Nov 2009. We will book at our home resort at the 11-month mark, but at the 7-month mark will try get (in order of preference) Beach Club, Villas @ WL or Boardwalk.

Can we be waitlist at all of those options? And say if an opening comes up at VWL (our 2nd choice), will we still remain on the waitlist for Beach Club (our first choice)?

Thanks in advance,

You can be waitlisted at all of them, but if one of your 2nd or 3rd choices opens up, you will be booked and waitlist will end. You will then need to start a new waitlist and will go to the bottom of that. I was waitlisted for our trip last month. Went on the waitlist in August and it came through 8 DAYS before we left! We were so lucky!!! I've been waitlisted other times and usually they come through, but once it didn't. It was during a budy season and we got BWV standard, but not Boardwalk View. That was ok though.

When waitlisting, would the separate room options for each resort be considered different choices? For example would Boardwalk (preferred view) be considered a different option than Boardwalk (standard view)?

Yes. We are currently wait-listed for ANY 2-bedroom at BWV or BCV. So there are about 6 diferent options that we have right there!

I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong :).

Sorry to hijack, but how did that affect DME, if you used DME? I hope our WL comes through at any time! Just want to know what to expect :).

Hi! About to be a new member at BLT here...so am I to understand that if I wanted to try SSR I could book a room at BLT 11 mo. out and then waitlist to change that ressie to SSR, and they would automatically switch the ressie if it became avail? Just learning all the ins and outs of this. Thanks!

You wouldn't be able to wait-list for SSR before the 7-month booking window since it is not your home resort. You would call MS 7 months from your check-in date to switch your BLT reservation to SSR . If nothing was available at SSR, then you can ask to be put on a wait list for SSR.

BTW, I do not think you will ever have to wait-list for SSR at 7 months, except for maybe the Treehouse Villas or Grand Villas.

So to clarify:

If at the 7-month mark, could I submit a waitlist like this (this is just a sample):
#1: Boardwalk (preferred)
#2: Beach Club
#3: VWL
#4: Boardwalk (standard)

Or can I only list Boardwalk as one option?

The biggest thing that affected DME was changing from CSR to OKW. It was fine when my in-laws were coming in (the rest of us drove), but when we moved to OKW and contacted them about the return trip there was a little problem. I just called for them and made a new DME reservation for pickup from OKW. It was a slight inconvenience and took up about 10 minutes, but in the scheme of things, that was only 10 mins out of the 10 days we were there!

You can list BWV as 2, as long as you know the #1 isn't "first choice" #2 "second choice" etc. It will automatically book you in whichever comes up first. But BW preferred and BW standard can be listed separate, I've done it before. Also, there is a 3rd category at BW...Boardwalk View.

So I realize I can put multiple room types for each resort on the waitlist. But could I only list one specific room category for a resort on the waitlist? for example, could I only put Boardwalk (boardwalk view) as a wait list choice if I'm not interested in their other views? Or would they give me any available villa at Boardwalk?
