I swear I have read this tons of times, but I can't get it straight. Which ship (Magic/Wonder) sails the 3 and 4 night cruises? Please also confirm which ship has Triton's and which Lumiere's (I think those are the two?). We have booked a 4 night for Feb 2005 and I would like to look at some pics, but want to make sure I'm looking at the correct ship! Also, my DH hates seafood (gasp  ) and I was hoping that the 4 night ship had Lumieres not Tritons. If it is Triton, can we skip it and replace it with something else? I'm thinking the easiest was might be to book Palo that night. But I have also read that Parrot Cay is nothing to write home about so that is a good one to skip. If you could clear me up on these points I would really appreciate it!!

The Wonder sails for the 3 & 4 night cruises and has Tritons onboard while the Magic sails for the 7 night and has Lumieres .... you can book Palo for the night you dine in Tritons if you get onboard early enough to book the reservation ..... Andy

OK - Please "dis"regard (:p ) the whole Lumiere's/Triton's issue. I was just on Barb and Tony's site and noticed they have menus and both restaurants are basically the same menu and Triton's offers alot more than just seafood.

But...I came up with one more question...please...

Is room service FREE???!!! If so, what a deal! I would love room service but we have never because it is SO expensive in most hotels. And on the ship it is 24hr!? Man, this cruise idea is looking better and better. I wonder if the ship is sunk deeper in the water when they return to port than when they left, because the whole food situation seems out of control (in a good way!).

Can't wait :bounce: :bounce:

Room service is free and they have their own little menu to order from, the only out of pocket expense would be if you order something to drink and of course tipping the person that delivers, which is at your own descretion ...... Andy

Room service is free. Or, more correctly, it's included in the price of your cruise. So while it's not really free, it won't add anything to your bill to order it (do remember to tip the person who delivers it, though).

The ship is not sitting any deeper in the water, because it burns diesel the whole time. There's a very scientific formula used to compensate for the weight gained by passengers by burning fuel to balance out the ship's load.

The Wonder does the 3/4 night cruises and has Tritons. The Magic does the 7 day and has Lumineres.

Having only been on the Wonder so far, I would say don't skip Tritons...it is a beautiful restasurant with good food. Actually on our 4 day we diudn't do Palo because I didn't want to skip a restaurant. I liked Parrot Cay, its just a little noisier than the others but the decor is neat! The menu is different at all restaurants but it is varied. There is a seafood, beef, chicken, pasta and vegetarian dish every night at every restaurant. I liked the food at all the rstaurants but I am not all that picky and all the desserts were to die for.

If you don't like the menu you can always eat at the Buffet or have pizza or hot dogs up on deck 10.

Hope this helps....

Yes it is!! And this is the time to be adventurous at dinner because it's "free" too (you've already paid for it). I would never go to far out on a limb with a meal if I was paying $30 (or even $12). On the ship you can try what ever you want and if you don't like it, order another. Some people even order two of everything up front. They will bring you whatever you ask for.

I, like your DH do not care for seafood (salmon excepted). In Lumier's I tried the Grouper (it's very good) and at brunch in Palo (Magic 7 nighter) I had some sort of fish (no idea of what it was) that was the absolute best, non dessert food I have ever had:tongue:

Finally, if you don't see something that strikes your fancy on your menu, ask to see a menu from one of the other restaurants. They usually are more than willing to bring you something from one of the other kicthens.

Im a new cruiser also and was wondering if anyone has expolored the Atlantis hotel on there own if so, how was the experience??? Any advice???? thanks

You can do Atlantis on your own. Just catch a cab at the docks, you may to wait until it gets filled up before it moves. Make sure you agree on a price before getting in, approx $4 per person. Also the the cab can be a ride in itself. :o

Not much in Atlantis other than the aquarium, shopping area, and the casino (children can walk through but cannot watch). YOu have to pay for the aquarium, and to swim in the pools, you have to book a room for a couple of $100.

We caught the cab after breakfast, visited the aquarium, DW spent a few mins on the slots, and we headed back for lunch to the ship.
