We already have adr at LeCellier, Chefs de France, Calif. Grill and the Kona Cafe for our trip in August. We were planning to dine at Mama Melrose but after reading so many bad reviews we are looking for other options. We will be paying out of pocket for this meal since we need two table service points for Calif. Grill. We are looking for a great table service meal for a moderate price. Any suggestions? Thanks fellow disney lovers!

I wouls suggest 50's Primetime or if you want to pay a little more try The Brown Derby. We enjoy eating at both, the food & service are very good.

We really liked Mama Melrose's when we tried it in December last year, maybe we're in the minority. :confused3

If you enjoy different types of food, I'd vote for Boma. It's my favorite WDW TS. MMMmmmmm Zebra Domes!

Even with the bad reviews that you have seen give MM a try. We liked it when we went in Jan (Fantasmic package).

My favorite table service restaurants are The Liberty Tree Tavern in MK, Brown Derby (which can be a bit pricy) in MGM, the Living Seas (which is a bit pricy) in EPCOT, and as tacky as it is, we like the Rainforest Cafe in Animal Kingdom. Mama Melrose's really isn't a bad option for MGM though. The worst restaurants (I think) are the Sci Fi and the 50's Primetime...go for the atmosphere and dessert, not for a whole meal. :) Le Cellier in Canada (Epcot) is also pretty good as well.

Jerseygirl - Skip Mama Melrose's - coming from jersey, you probably know good Italian food, and Melrose's is more Olive Garden than Little Italy.

If you are looking for something fun, try 'Ohanas.
If you want something ethnic, try Teppanyaki.

If ur looking for a place in MGM then id have to go with the 50s prime time....If it doesnt have to be in mgm then i will 3rd the idea of boma for dinner

If you want to stay at the Studios, I'd go with Prime Time, as others have said. Other than that, the restaurants I would recommend to anyone are Boma, Marrakesh and Spoodles.

Our favorites are Sci-Fi & Alfredo's. (Alfredo's being #1 on our list)
We personnally didn't like Mama Melrose... sad but true! I liked Sci-Fi more !!

My 2 cents. Good luck :-)

Thanks everyone! Long Island Couple-Yes it's true: coming from south jersey does make me what my husband calls me a "pizza snob"! It's hard for a jerseygirl to find good italian restaurants that don't think Chef Boyardee is fine dining!

Princesstommi-what are your favorite dishes at Spoodles? We are staying at the Boardwalk Villas and have never tried the restaurants there.

This is what our party ordered (descriptions from allears):

Me: Oak-fired New York Strip with sweet potato steak fries and a horseradish chive cream drizzle
DH: Oak-fired Salmon with roasted vegetable stew
MIL: Lemon Chicken with toasted couscous, baby spinach, tomatoes, and capers
FIL: Rigatoni with mild Italian sausage, tomatoes and portobello mushrooms

Everyone really liked their entrees. My favorites were my steak and FIL's rigatoni. We had never been to Spoodle's before either, and made a quick ADR for the same night. I was really surprised at how much I enjoyed the meal, and I definitely want to go back. :)
