Two adults looking to go first week of December for 5 nights, we have never been at Christmas and can't wait to see all the decorations. Would you choose Grand Floridian or Beach Club Resort? Thanks in advance for your help.

Adults? GF would be our vote. Depending on where you want to spend most of your park time of any…. If your focus is Epcot stay BC.

Both hotels have their advantages and disadvantages but echoing others who ask which park/parks hold your interest the most. Knowing that is part of the formula to picking an area to stay in 🙂.

We would spend most of our time at Epcot and Magic Kingdom. Our sons are grown and married but when they were younger we took them to the Poly probably about 15 times. We haven't been back to Disney in about 16 years. We don't even know where to begin.

Beach club. Better access to two parks (hs and ep) with better transportation options to said parks (walk, boat, skyliner). Better access to dining options around beach club area. Less chaotic at beach club vs so many people coming to the grand to see the gingerbread house.

So Crescent Lake and the MK hotels do make sense for you; good logic 🙂.

I took a quick look at the rates for GF and BC and realized that they might still be under construction at that time. It would take deeper research to know when it’ll end so I’ll just go with it’s still happening and conclude it’s not worth the approx. $1000 daily rate for BC and $800.00 ( I think. For sure BC was more than GF and that’s unusual) for GF. At least in my opinion. YC’s rate was also high and under construction. Were it me I’d check into Broadwalk Inn or maybe Wilderness Lodge. Discounting Poly simply because you’ve been there many times. Contemporary is not a personal fav but you’ve that as an option as well. HTH and enjoy wherever you opt for. Disney is truly wonderous during the December holidays.

I would choose Beach Club. I much prefer strolling the Boardwalk area and having so many restaurant options, plus EP right next door and easy access to the Skyliner. BC is beautiful at Christmas and I just find the resorts in the EP area to be a bigger bang for the buck. You can always visit GF to see the decorations there.

Thank you everyone for your replies, you have all been so helpful, I really appreciate it.

Location wise, both are great but a slight edge to BC for having close proximity to 2 parks. Beach Club is my favorite resort. We are big Epcot people, so you cannot beat walking to Epcot. Having the sky liner right there if you want to explore other resorts and I just love the whole Crescent Lake area.

Having stayed at both multiple times vastly prefer GF to BC on pretty much every metric but I would never stay there during the holidays—it’s a madhouse. Stick to BC.

You can't beat the GF at Christmas time. If you are going for the xmas decorations, that really is the place to be.

We are 2 adults and have stayed at both. GF over BC. But I would pick BWI. We ove the epcot area resorts but BC is our least favorite deluxe that we have stayed at.

I vote for GF just for the lobby at Christmas and all the other monorail resorts. Plus, a boat ride to WL or the Fort.

My favorite adult resort, non-holiday is the Rivera.

Have fun!

On the surface I would do GF. They go all out for Christmas with the gingerbread house and you are on the monorail to get easy access to contemporary which will also go gingerbread and like bbn mentioned a quick boat ride to WL or the fort

If you haven't been in 16 years I highly suggest to use a travel agent. you will be overwhelmed with everything and a good one will help you not only with the stay but with dining and the Holiday parties. do your homework on what you want to do and come summer (typically when the Christmas party tickets go on sale) look at what parties are available in your window.

Some really good overall guides on YouTube for the Christmas season to give you a picture of everything extra they do. I personally am torn between Halloween and Christmas time being my favorite but this time of year is by far my wives favorite so enjoy it!

Yeah, there were a few threads this year about how guests of the hotel felt they couldn't really use it because of the crowds in the lobby.

I real honestly was not wowed by Grand Floridian. And when we went the first week of December to visit/see the gingerbread house, the lobby was a madhouse. I would pick Beach Club. Or Boardwalk

Neither. For Christmas, I'd choose the Wilderness Lodge. Nothing beats it for the holidays and it's not as crowded because it's not on the monorail or walking distance to a park.
