help choose a downtown disney restaurant for our family

we have a 2 year old dd and our son will be 8 months when we go to WDW next month. we will be meeting up with my father in law and his mother in downtown disney for dinner, and i have no clue where to go. i am hoping to make ADRs since it will be a saturday night and we cannot sit around waiting to get in to a restaurant. can anyone make recommendations? we have a rainforest cafe here, and although we are very willing to go there, i was hoping to find something different since we can go to the one here any time.

Have you ever eaten at Planet Hollywood? It is a little loud in there though, but that isn't a bad thing with a 2 yr old and an 8 month old. I really like their cheeseburgers.And don't forget Girhardelli's for dessert. I hope this helps a little and enjoy your vacation.

we ate at planet hollywood here in chicago a long time ago, before the kids were in the picture. it might be too loud for grandma, though. ill have to ask and see if its an option. thanks!

If you like seafood, why not try Cap'n Jacks or Fulton's? Much less "noisy" for the little ones.... and great food!!

Without a doubt, Rainforest Cafe. Animals, fish, the kids will be entertained. My 3 yr old loved it!

My vote is Puck's, in the main dining room, not the tonier upstairs room.

Can you use the DP at restaurants in Downtown Disney?? Can you make ADR's at those restaurants too?

We are going in September. When I called to make ADRs I was told I could not make one for Captain Jack's. I also know you can't make them for Planet Hollywood or Rainforest Cafe (Planet Hollywood and Captain Jack's accept the dining plan though). I decided on Wolgang Puck's Cafe. I was able to make an ADR and the menu looked good. Good luck with your decision .

I have always been able to make ADR for Rainforest Cafe. Is this something new? We usually eat at the one @ AK so maybe that one is different. My kids really like it there. It is a bit noisy but we love the atmosphere.

I vote for Rainforest! Its one of our favorites! 1st trip we were in the Elephant room and DD got a bit spooked by the 1st thunder storm but was okay after that, just prep them. There is just so much fun to be had at Rainforest! Yummy food too!!

I always thought the DTD RFC didn't take ADRs. You had to put your name in when you got there. I have made them for the AK RFC though. I could be wrong about the DTD location. Maybe someone else can confirm?

Forgot to add this. You CAN make ADRs for DTD RFC. Call 407WDWDINE and ask them. They will give you the # for DTD RFC. You can call the restaurant directly to make an ADR.
