Hi!! DH and I are going to be at MK for my birthday in January and I am trying to decide which restaraunt to have dinner at. I have been to Chef Mickey's (years ago) and have never been to Liberty Tree Taver. I would love to hear your experiences at both. What would you do?

Thank you!!

Trish

::MickeyMo Hmmm...that's tough. We prefer LTT, but since it's for your birthday, you'll have a lot more fun at Chef Mickey's! ::MinnieMo

Chef Mickey's is the best place to celebrate a birthday. However, if you want a quieter, more romantic (as romantic as you can get at a character meal), LTT would be my choice.

I prefer LTT.

Like the location, the decor of the restaurant, the food, being served instead of buffet, and character interaction better. Even though it is a character meal, it isn't as "busy" feeling as Chef Mickey's because of the way it is laid out. This is probably our favorite character meal on property.

We just dined at Chef Mickey's with friends from the board on Saturday. The food was horrible, character interaction wonderful , the resturant itself is entertaining and The atmosphere is wonderful ,. I feel the food quality has really gone down hill. If you dont mind spending $$$$ for salad and dessert than go for it.Those were the best part's of my meal.

We have dined at LTT once and we enjoyed it. We will be going back at the end of this month to refresh our memories. :0).

I am also trying to decide which one to have a meal at. I will be traveling with my DD's (6 & 2) and DS. Six year old will be celebrating her birthday while in WDW. If we do breakfast I was thinking CM, but would like to try dinner at LTT. What to do???? Curious to see what other responses this thread gets. :rolleyes1

Thanks for your input...this is a really hard decision...can't wait to hear more!!

Trish

Atmosphere and character interaction was much more enjoyable at CM. The food was forgetable but oh well, we still had a great time! LTT is great too, but if I had to choose based on the fun factor alone it would be CM.

Here are my thoughts between the two:

We liked CM for the variety in food choices. Character interaction was fine.
We liked LTT for the AWESOME character interaction, the more relaxing feel, and the fact that dinner was brought TO us.

We had our two dd's with us, 7 and 2 at the time. When they are that age and you eat at a buffet you might as well kiss a relaxing meal goodbye. Dh and I don't even get to see each other at a buffet meal because one of us is always up getting something for the kids or ourselves. We feel like pulling our hair out at the end of the meal.

So, for us, even though we thought the food at CM's was better (mind you, this was a year ago) and we really liked having a variety of food to choose from, we preferred LTT because...

1) ...it was quieter,
2) ...the characters were MUCH, MUCH, MUCH better, and
3) ...Mom and Dad got to sit down together at the table and chat!

Another vote for LTT here. We tried CM on our last trip and really didn't care for it. Food was ok, but the atmosphere in the restaurant itself didn't do much for us, and character interaction was very rushed.

We've had the best character interaction by far at LTT. In fact, the characters spent so much time with us that we ran out of things to say to them! :teeth: The food there is good, not great, but the atmosphere is very nice and it's much quieter than CM.

Happy birthday and enjoy your meal wherever you decide to go!

LTT would definitely get my vote. CM was okay but LTT was much more relaxing and character friendly. I would prefer being served over a buffet and LTT is still all you can eat.

We've never done CM for dinner but enjoy the breakfast. However, we felt the character interaction and food were better at LTT when we did it 10/7 prior to MNSSHP. The noise level was also better. In fact we liked it so much that I booked an ADR at it for our Dec trip when we take my Grandma. I think we do appreciate the family style but have had enjoyable expereinces at WDW buffets(Boma, 'nough said.)

Another vote for LTT. We had ate at LTT twice before our last trip and have always loved it. This trip we tried Chef Mickey's and it just wasnt for us. It was just so wild. After a long day at the park it was hard to relax here. There was a bird flying around and I was concerned he would poop in our food. ;) Kids, not my kids, were feeding the bird and it stayed right around our table the whole time. And I did not like the food. It was okay for my kids because they do not each much anyway, but the adult selection was very slim. Oh one more thing, After a long day at the park I wished I could have been served. It was hard fixing the girls plates and then mine and then sit down. It could have been just a bad experience, but i dont think we will go back again.

We ate at LTT again before MNSSHP and had a very good meal. We had to wait awhile for a table, but we had a large party that night. The food has been consistently good and the characters are great. It is just a more relaxing setting.

Hope this helps.

We've only been to CM for brekkie, but we really love LTT. My ILs love it even more- they made sure to go there on BOTH trips that they took w/o us! They love the character interaction and they say that if it is not crowded, the characters really put on a "show" as they interact with the guests, regardless of whether the guests have children.

My vote is also LTT. We've only been to Chef Mickey's for breakfast. It was so-so and we (and our DS2) were snubbed by Mickey. Although I'm sure it was completely unintentional, it still left a bad taste in my mouth for the place - pardon the pun here. We've been to LTT several times for both lunch and dinner. Dinner is the best - hands down.

That's exactly what I would say!

Without a doubt LTT. We did 6 character meals this August and thought CM was the worst of the lot. We love LTT and would never go to MK without eating dinner there.
