i'm interested in changing resorts during my stay, but will not have a car. anyone out there tried this? did it go smoothly and any other tips. it's port orleans and wilderness lodge if that helps. thanks ::MickeyMo

Piece of cake! Just call in the morning and arrange to have your baggage picked up. Give instructions as to where you are headed and your bags will be stored there until you arrive and check in. Once you are in your room, you simply call down and they will bring your things almost immediately, We did this on our last visit between CSR and POFQ. :flower:

We had good luck doing this also. I almost decided on using a taxi because I was worried about transferring to a different resort on a busy day - January 2.

The night before I stopped by bell services at Pop Century and told them we were transferring to Wilderness Lodge and that our luggage would be ready by 11 a.m. He asked for the approximate number of bags and said we could just leave the bags in our room - we didn't need to be there. I was uneasy about that, but that's just me. We checked into WL about 2 and were barely in our rooms when they brought up our luggage!!

We were impressed with their efficiency.

We changed resorts due to Hurricane Frances last year. We got in a day early before the airport closed so we stayed at ASMO for one night and then transferred to the Poly. Since it was only one night we stored our bags immediately when we arrived at ASMO and just had an overnighter with us. The switch went smoothly.

This December we decided to switch mid vacation and everything went okay. So we're doing it again this July!!

Have fun!

Done this on several trips and never had a car. They will store your stuff when you checkout of one resort and deliver it to your room at the next resort when your room is ready later. Just make sure you clearly tell them what your plan is and where the bags should be sent. One thing to keep in mind is that for several hours, you probably will not have a room. Some people suggest packing up a bag of essentials to have with you at the parks that day. Another suggestion is to pack the smallest suitcase with things you may need and flag it for easy identification. You can access your stuff while it's checked, it's just easier to narrow it down. Sometimes our second resort room was ready and we were able to go right in.

Welcome to the multiple resort club. I'll be doing BWV's, POFQ, then the VWL with no car. Just remember that there is no direct transportation from one resort to the next.

I'll leave BWV's, go to Epcot, spend some time there(maybe lunch), then bus to POFQ. When its time to move to VWL, I'll go to the MK, spend some time, then take the boat to the VWL.

We did it once, never again. Transfered from AKL to Poly. We had a total of 4 bags, went to bell services at 8:30 in the morning, we carried our bags ourselves and said we were going over to Poly and they said no problem. Checking into Poly but room was not ready or no one had left yet. Inquired about luggage and was told it would be here by 3pm. Well, we weren't going to a park that day and wanted to swim but all our stuff was in the luggage. With no suits, luggage or room we spent the day sitting by the pool until 2{3-pm when room was ready, boring, and our luggage didn't arrive, after numerous calls all day at 3:45. If we knew ahead that the transfer would take that long, we would have taken our luggage on the disney bus with us. Sort of a lost day for us, even if we had gone to a park to play, got sweaty and hot and came back to the resort to cool off and swim at 1pm, we still wouldn't have had any luggage to change into. Best thing, taxi, take it your self or pin them down on when will the transfer will take place. We were told later that the AKL makes one trip in a box truck at 3 and thats it. Beware of an easy transfer, ask, and avoid problems!
