Help! CBR, did I make a mistake?

I do not believe adjoining rooms are guaranteed at any of the resorts. You could get lucky and you could not...

You can certainly make a request but again, not guaranteed.

One thing of note, I've noticed everyone stating the beds at CBR are full beds. While this is still true of the Pirate rooms, if you were able to get moved to a standard room, these have been updated to queens as of the last refurb in fall 2014/spring 2015.

I think you should do some more research and price out the different options. You have doubts and would prefer POR. What's the difference in cost ? Personally I think the free dining is over rated compared with other deals. I don't like this deal you are getting.

Agree.

- I have stayed in Pirate rooms and they are far from an upgrade. The beds are full beds and sit very high with hard strange mattresses. Haven't been renovated in years. Not sure what they offer for WC users and transferring. I wouldn't stay in them again unless they were offered at more a value rate.

- Pirate rooms are very far from the main hub, far enough that we decided on the second time in that area to not even use the main hub at all. We drove elsewhere to eat and drove to parks.

- NO ELEVATORS in entire resort so you have to be diligent that your folks must have first floor. AND connecting or adjoined, just a request, so given that they can only have first floor, and first floors are a popular request - at CBR there is a greater chance of you being separated. Add that you are booked in Pirates, not the rest of the resort, so the number of rooms there is limited.

I would personally do what @maxiesmom suggests and tell your TA to stay on it to get you moved to CSR. It has elevators, it's smaller than CBR, drink refill and counter food at the main pool, queen beds and multiple dining options for your DDP. Probably better odds of connecting rooms due to no first floor restrictions and options throughout the resort. If it were me I would also be trying to book my own reservation in case your TA does not.

PS - CSR is STUNNING at the holidays!

AT CSR you can also consider a suite that sleeps 6 and has two bathrooms. That way, you HAVE to be in connecting rooms. CBR does not have suites. I would call Disney directly and tell them what you want -- or pick a travel agent with better experience with Disney. Why would you put your Dad out on the edge of the property if he has a wheelchair?

Agreed! A 30% price reduction is often MORE than the free dining reduction would be, esp since you need 2 rooms and have 4 adults spread over those two rooms. Free dining often works out to a savings for us, b/c we have 4 dining adults in one room, but free dining means full priced rooms. Also, if you are NOT big eaters, paying oop for food is often cheaper than the dining plan.

Unfortunately the OP will be in Trinidad South as that is the only section with the Pirate Rooms. I don't know about how much you walked at the All Stars, but I'm lazy enough that I always pay for preferred rooms at the value resorts. Not much walking then!

How do you get around the parks then? Not asking this in a snarky way. I'm lazy enough that I want to book a preferred room too. Wondering if there are shortcuts around the parks. :)

There has not been as much availability for free dining this year and if you need an accessible room that will further limit availibity. We find that free dining is usually the best deal for a value or moderate stay. The room only discount for fall is lower than 30%.

CBR has a great pool area for little kids and a zero entry pool. Plus all of the rooms have been recently refurbished.

I walk my hiney off at the parks! I don't want to do that at my resort!
