Help: Carribbean Beach or Coronado Springs

So Disney wasn't on the radar until at least 2022 due to COVID, postponed wedding, ect. Well, my soon to be husband received a letter this week from his work that they will be hosting their work conference at Yacht Club in June 2021. So the plan is to stay there a few days and then extend our trip so we can hit a few parks.

For passes and hotel stay, Caribbean Beach and Coronado Springs are basically the same price. Literally a $50 difference. We've got about 8 months to plan this trip so I'd appreciate any feedback anyone has.

You may want to enquire if you can extend your stay at YC with the conference discount. You may be able to purchase discounted tickets through the conference as well. If not, I would choose CBR simply for the convenience of the Skyliner.

We've only stayed at CS, and found it to be clean and beautiful, grounds and rooms. The food court had a good variety. I know people complain about the buses, but we never had a problem with the buses at all. It's a big resort, so we stayed in Casitas Bldg #3, which is now a preferred room I believe. I think either one would be great!

Coronado is a deluxe at moderate prices. The grounds are beautiful. The dining is as good, if not better, than any deluxe, the CMs are so helpful, fitness center (if that's important), Spa (if that's back up and running), great pools. And Margaritas! My little Nirvana!

I agree with PP that it would be my preference to stay at the YC at the conference price if you can, both for the ease of not having to switch resorts as well as the pool and proximity to DHS. If DHS stays anything like it is currently, being in walking distance for park opening is a great advantage.

It would be hard for me to choose between CSR and CBR - we love both. We just returned on Friday from an amazing week long stay at CBR, and had a great week long stay at CSR last year. CSR has more amenities with additional bars and dining, but in the current environment, I can't speak to how limited those options may be. With CBR having the Skyliner, I would be inclined to choose CBR. Bus capacities are extremely limited right now and I don't see that changing soon, so not having to deal with buses to two of the four parks is a big advantage. The only thing we don't like at CBR is the sheer size of the resort, but it is what it is. CSR is large too, but easier to navigate with the bridges across the water.

We've stayed at both and while we never had any issues with the busses at CSR, we would go with CBR for the use of the Skyliner. We've found it hard to go back to busses only after staying at the resorts where we can either walk to 1-2 parks or take the Skyliner. I think one thing people overlook with the dining situation of CBR vs. CSR is that at CBR you have access to all the food options at the Riviera - which definitely upgrades the food situation.

Coronado Springs:
Pros: Gran Destino Tower is so beautiful- it feels like a Deluxe resort. Lots of dining options - rooftop bar at Dahlia Lounge, 3 Bridges bar on the water is amazing. The whole resort is just so pretty - awesome pool
Cons: bus only

Caribbean Beach :
Pros: Location, location, location! Right on the skyliner. Lobby is new and very nice. Banana Cabana is super cute and good drinks. Can walk to Riviera and hit up Topolino’s or Bar Riva
Cons: rooms feel darker/older. Resort is so big - I think your experience could vary depending on your room location. Sebastians restaurant is closed (might be open by the time you go?)

Honestly, can’t go wrong with either, but if I had to choose, I’d do Gran Destino Tower room at CS - especially for a couple’s getaway weekend!

The rooms at Coronado are far, far nicer than the rooms at Caribbean Beach. Overall, CBR is a beautiful resort, but we enjoy CSR for how nice the rooms are and the amenities it has. I don't really think the Skyliner is as much of a game-changer as others, but that's just my opinion. I think you'd have less of a shock going from the rooms at YC to rooms at CSR. And the transportation to and from the parks has always been great at CSR for us, too.

The rooms are bad enough at the CBR IMO that I would give up the Skyliner and other location based amenities for the relatively isolated CSR.

I work in the industry so I was pretty surprised when fiance got the letter for the conference. But then again, it is Florida afterall. They do the conference every 3 years I guess, was supposed to be 2020 but pushed till 2021.

CSR vs CBR depends entirely on your priorities.
CBR is a convenient regular go-to selection for its location and skyliner access. HOWEVER, the rooms haven't been updated for a while and can seem dated and tired, compared to the updated CSR, YC, and Pop. In recent months, the skyliner has had loooooong lines prior to park opening, so that has diminished in its usefulness -- at HS park opening.

CSR is just a great resort. updated rooms, beautiful resort complex, Destino tower is brand new and luxurious, and several choices for evening drinks. Disney bus service is your only complimentary transportation option. Its been closed for the NBA exclusive use, so I'm not sure if there is enough data for how the bus service is running in a covid era.

Both have pros and cons as listed above, but it's soooo hard to go from a Deluxe to a Moderate- any chance you can do the CSR or CBR portion before the Yacht Club?

I'm seeing several comments that the rooms are bad at CBR. We stayed at CBR 10/25-10/30 and our room was perfectly fine. The bed was extremely comfortable, and it was very clean with a cleaner smell prevalent (in a good way) when we opened the door. I felt confident they did a good job cleaning and sanitizing. The resort had a soft goods refurb in late 2018, so the rooms ARE fairly updated. Its not as modern as the non-tower CSR rooms, which have had a more recent full refurb. We've stayed at CSR too since their refurb, and didn't care for the hardwood floors there - we heard every footstep from the people above us, and my hair collected in tumbleweeds rolling across the floor because Mouskeeping apparently didn't sweep at all. I don't doubt that there is wear and tear on CBR rooms, so some may be worse off than others, but room quality issues never even crossed our minds (we were in 4264, Jamaica 42).
