We are going to need a car rental for our upcoming trip.

Car Pick-Up - November 9th
Car Drop-November 21st

We'd prefer to pick-up and drop-off the car from MCO.

The cheapest I could find is from EZ Rent a Car for:

Base rate $302.00 (Midsize)
2 weeks @ $151.00/week
Taxes and fees $112.90
Total car rental estimate $414.90 USD

Is this a good rate? It just sounds expensive!

Anyone else get a better rate? Any tips?

Thanks!

Definitely try mousesavers.com for discount/promo codes :) also check back with the rental sites as rates frequently change. If a better rate comes up, reserve it online, get the confirmation & then cancel the old reservation. I would also sign up for emails from the car rental sites. I get free day offers etc..every week from National, Alamo & a few others.

I am in teh same boat right now trying to book a minivan for July. I have been on the Transportation board getting info on discount codes and companies. The best I am getting right now for 2 weeks for a minivan is $577.07 everything included, with National so I think you could probably do better.

I am finding that you get the deals through the contract and coupon codes that are floating around....just have to find teh right combo for your dates. Mousesavers is good as well as you can just google whatever car rental place you want to use+coupon codes.

I found these page at fatwallet.com that had TONS of codes for all the rental companies. Some are expired but you just have to spend some time trying them.

Good luck!

Try costco.com. Is the US site but they also have a travel business link at top of page. There they have discounts for different companies. I used it last Oct. Got alamo, full size car, 1 week, 89.00 plus taxes and fees. Total came to around 125.00 can. A bonus for booking through costco with alamo is you can add an extra driver for no charge. Usually a 10.00/day fee. I asked when I picked up card if they wanted to see my costco card and she said no, just both of our driver licences.

I usually book several cars and check weekly to see if the rates have changed.
Reserving at rate now will protect you if they go up.
