After flying into LAX, we will be staying at Disneyland Hotel for 3 nights, then doing some visiting in the LA area for 4 more days. Trying to figure out if I should just rent a car at LAX for the week, and pay for it to sit parked at the resort for 3 days, or rent at the end of our Disney stay. Once at the resort, we probably wont leave for 3 days so no need to have a car during that time. I like the idea of using the Lansky car service from LAX to the hotel, but finding an easy, inexpensive car rental near the hotel that I can return to LAX seems unlikely. I usually rent with Hertz, but would consider a different company. Any suggestions?

Alamo actually has a location at DLR, and I'm sure you wouldn't be the first person to request a car to be returned at the airport.

There are also several car rentals places in the nearby surrounding areas, though I don't know if there's a Hertz.

If it were me, I'd use the car service and rent a car only when I needed it.

We are flying into LAX for our upcoming trip. I have a car with Excucar scheduled to pick us up at the airport. On our last day we are renting a car with Alamo at the Downtown Disney location, driving to have lunch with family and then returning the car to LAX. Price wise it worked out to about the same as if we had rented a car for the entire trip (and paid for parking.)

We had originally booked a limo service for the trip to and from LAX, but got a smoking deal from Enterprise for a week's rental ($180.00) that it was cheaper for us to rent and drive for the week vs take the limo, and rent for 1 or 2 days.

Yes, we will have days where we will not be driving, but to have a car makes it easier to run to the store and get something. A tirp to the ocean can be done when we want to vs. planning each day out.

On our trip a couple of weeks ago, we used DK Livery (Lansky) car service and it truly was one of the best decisions we made. We knew we weren't going anywhere else, so that, combined with an crazy early morning flight out of LAX, was the perfect solution for us.

If we're ever able to make the trek to the west coast again, we will definitely use the car service.
