Help! Can't get preferred room!

Ok so we're traveling in April and the only availability I could find is a standard room at POR or a King room at CBR. I've stayed at both properties and don't really have a preference except I always like having the preferred room locations and now I can't get one anywhere!

Does anyone have any advice for room requests on either property so that we're close to a bus stop. I just can't decide on which property to book!

There is a bus stop at each village of the CBR so you are never very far from a bus stop. We were in Jamaica 41 and we were, literally, about a minute walk from the bus stop and the walk to Old Port Royale was not long at all. We also stayed in the non-preferred Martinique building (I can't remember the building number) and, again, we were just about a minute walk from the bus stop.

Did you only check online for the preferred room locations or did you call? I tried calling before and they found a preferred room for me. (I ended up calling back and changing back to a standard room so I could save the money for Cirque tickets)

The distance to the bus stop will not be a problem at CBR, as each village has its own bus stop. If you want to be relatively close to Old Port Royale, request Jamaica 45 or Aruba 51. These buildings are very close to the walkway that crosses the lake. We stayed in Jamaica 45 in November and it probably took less than 5 minutes to walk to OPR.

I only looked online so maybe I'll call. I'm leaning towards POR since it's been a few years since I stayed there and DH has never been to this one. I like the preferred rooms b/c it seems like you the first bus stop to be picked up. I hate being the last and then you have to stand

There really isn't a preferred category at POR. You can get a standard room, a king room or a waterview. King rooms and water views can be scattered throughout the resorts so it wouldn't necessarily get you close to a good bus location.

Actually, at CBR, Jamaica is the first bus stop pickup most of the time, so there's another advantage to staying there.
